Let’s Talk About It!

I used to think Lemon8 was gone be another fun girly app like Pinterest but outside of the bots/ads/brain rot the women on this app make this platform disgusting.

Y’all are blatantly racist, judgmental, and disrespectful. Y’all speak on things you’re not educated on. Y’all say hurtful things instead of being nice, helpful, and genuine. And to put it in short y’all say stuff most of you wouldn’t say in real life! Y’all are real bold behind them little screens when you wouldn’t dare say the stuff y’all say in real life. Before you make another nasty comment think about how you look being a hateful woman. Practice some self awareness and if you cant say nothing nice don’t say nothing at all.

Take a moment to spread some positivity today! Even if it’s to yourself💛

... Read moreNavigating social apps like Lemon8 can be a mixed experience. Just like many users, I initially joined expecting a positive and creative environment but found myself caught off guard by instances of judgment and unkind behavior. It’s easy to forget the human behind every comment or post when we're behind a screen, which sometimes leads to saying things we wouldn’t dare say face-to-face. From my personal experience, fostering a positive space on platforms like Lemon8 requires conscious effort. Responding with kindness instead of negativity can change the tone of conversations and encourage more genuine connections. For example, when encountering differing opinions, approaching the discussion with respect rather than judgment can open up healthy dialogue rather than conflict. I also realized the importance of self-awareness when posting or commenting. Before hitting send, asking myself whether my words are helpful or hurtful helps me maintain a positive presence. If the intention isn’t to uplift or contribute constructively, it’s often better to stay silent. This practice has helped me avoid unnecessary drama and helped me focus on the uplifting, creative side of the platform. Lastly, spreading positivity, even in small ways like complimenting someone’s post or sharing uplifting messages, creates a ripple effect. Everyone has the power to make Lemon8 a friendlier and more supportive community. As the phrase from the OCR image asks, “Are y’all okay?” – sometimes a little compassion and understanding can make all the difference in how we interact online. Let’s all try to be the change we want to see on social media.
