... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to share something that's been on my heart recently, especially after seeing that powerful verse from Galatians 5:16 KJV: 'This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.' It got me thinking a lot about 'God's will' – a phrase we hear so often, but what does it really mean to live it out? For me, understanding God's will isn't always about a dramatic sign or a booming voice from heaven. More often, it's about the quiet, consistent act of 'walking in the Spirit.' What does that even look like day-to-day? I've found it means intentionally choosing to align my thoughts, words, and actions with what I believe God would want. It's about cultivating a relationship where I'm listening more than I'm talking, and seeking guidance in prayer and through His word. When we "walk in the Spirit," it's like we're tuning into a different frequency. The world constantly bombards us with messages about what we should want – success, material possessions, instant gratification, which the verse calls the 'lust of the flesh.' But the Spirit, that gentle inner voice, guides us towards peace, patience, kindness, and self-control. It helps us discern what truly matters and what's just noise. I've noticed that when I'm genuinely trying to walk in the Spirit, decisions become clearer. It's not that problems disappear, but my perspective shifts. Instead of rushing into things driven by fear or desire, I feel a sense of calm and a clearer direction. It helps me avoid those impulsive choices that often lead to regret, which, let's be honest, often come from trying to fulfill that 'lust of the flesh' – seeking worldly satisfaction instead of spiritual fulfillment. So, how do we practically 'walk in the Spirit' to better understand God's will? Here are a few things that have helped me: Daily Quiet Time: Even just 10-15 minutes of prayer and reading the Bible can make a huge difference. Starting my day connecting with God helps set the tone. Mindful Moments: Throughout the day, I try to pause and ask myself, "Is this thought or action aligned with what I believe God wants for me?" Community: Surrounding myself with people who also seek to walk in the Spirit provides encouragement and accountability. Sometimes, God uses others to speak wisdom into our lives. Self-Reflection: Journaling or simply reflecting on my day helps me see where I succeeded or struggled in walking according to the Spirit. It's a journey, not a destination. There are days I totally mess up and give in to the 'lust of the flesh,' feeling disconnected. But the beauty is, we can always choose to re-center ourselves and ask for guidance again. For me, understanding God's will is less about a fixed destination and more about the path of walking moment by moment, guided by the Spirit. It's about allowing God to transform our desires so that His will becomes our greatest joy. What are your thoughts on this? How do you practice 'walking in the Spirit' in your daily life?
