Don't go to Japan if you don't know these five.😱

1. 🚬 Smoking blindly = heavy fine!
Japan is now almost 100% "banned" smoking in public, both cigarettes and electric cigarettes. Do not walk to smoke!
• What to do: Look for a glass cabinet or "Smoking Area" zone only. If caught, the fine starts from 2,000 to 10,000 yen, depending on the district.
2. 🚫 Do not take pictures of "geisha" and residential neighborhoods.
Especially in Kyoto, they now label Private Streets for privacy.
• Warning: Do not follow the geisha or maiko photos, immediately violate the fine of 10,000 yen!
3. 🎒 Big Bag "Do Not" Take Some Trains
Now you can't blindly drag a giant bag on the train, especially the Tokaido Shinkansen line.
• The rules are: If a bag size exceeds 160 cm (width + length + height), it must be booked in advance only! If you do not book and drag it up, it will be fined 1,000 yen and must be moved to the designated place of the staff.

จากประสบการณ์การเดินทางไปญี่ปุ่นในช่วงหลายปีที่ผ่านมา ผมรู้สึกเลยว่า การเปลี่ยนแปลงกฎระเบียบท้องถิ่นของญี่ปุ่นนั้นเข้มงวดขึ้นจริง ๆ โดยเฉพาะในปี 2026 นี้ประเทศไทยกับญี่ปุ่นมีนักท่องเที่ยวเพิ่มมากขึ้น จึงเป็นเหตุผลที่รัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นต้องวางกฎหมายออกมาเพื่อจัดการเรื่องนักท่องเที่ยวให้อยู่ในระเบียบและเคารพวัฒนธรรมอย่างเหมาะสม สิ่งที่ผมชอบมากคือเรื่องของการห้ามสูบบุหรี่แบบสุ่มสี่สุ่มห้า ซึ่งก่อนหน้านี้เราอาจเคยเห็นนักท่องเที่ยวหลายคนสูบบุหรี่บนถนนขณะเดินได้ แต่ตอนนี้ต้องจำให้ขึ้นใจจริง ๆ ว่าต้องสูบในโซนที่กำหนดเท่านั้น เพราะไม่เช่นนั้นอาจถูกปรับเงินจำนวนมากและเกิดความขัดแย้งกับคนท้องถิ่นได้ นอกจากนี้ การที่ห้ามถ่ายรูปเกอิชาและย่านที่พักอาศัยในเกียวโตสะท้อนถึงการให้เกียรติความเป็นส่วนตัวของชาวบ้านและวัฒนธรรมดั้งเดิม ซึ่งผมเห็นด้วยอย่างยิ่ง การเดินตามถ่ายเกอิชาหรือไมโกะโดยไม่ร้องขอถือเป็นพฤติกรรมที่ไม่เหมาะสมและอาจทำให้เกิดปัญหากับคนในพื้นที่ ข้อห้ามเรื่องกระเป๋าใบใหญ่บนรถไฟ เช่น สาย Tokaido Shinkansen ก็เป็นเรื่องสำคัญที่นักท่องเที่ยวต้องวางแผนดี ๆ เพราะถ้ากระเป๋าใหญ่กว่า 160 ซม. ต้องจองที่วางล่วงหน้าเท่านั้น ผมเองก็เคยเจอปัญหานี้มาแล้วเพราะไม่รู้กฎล่วงหน้า ทำให้ต้องเสียเวลาย้ายกระเป๋าหรือเสียค่าปรับนั่นเอง มารยาทการกินไปเดินไปก็เป็นสิ่งที่ผมแนะนำให้นักท่องเที่ยวฝึกฝน เพราะที่ญี่ปุ่นคนในพื้นที่ซีเรียสเรื่องนี้มาก การซื้อของกินแล้วหามุมนั่งกินอย่างสงบช่วยให้ไม่ดูเหมือนว่ารกหรือไร้มารยาทในที่สาธารณะ สุดท้ายเรื่องการจัดการขยะที่ญี่ปุ่นถือว่าเข้มงวดและเป็นระบบมาก ผมมักเตรียมถุงเล็กๆ สำหรับเก็บขยะส่วนตัวไว้ตลอด เพราะตามถนนหรือในเมืองส่วนใหญ่หาถังขยะสาธารณะยาก การนำขยะกลับไปทิ้งที่โรงแรมหรือจุดทิ้งขยะที่เหมาะสมจึงเป็นวิธีที่ดีและสร้างความประทับใจให้กับคนญี่ปุ่น นอกจาก 5 ข้อนี้ ผมแนะนำให้นักท่องเที่ยวเตรียมงบเผื่อภาษีนักท่องเที่ยว (Crowding Tax) ที่บางเมืองมีเก็บเพิ่มเติมจากค่าโรงแรมด้วย เพื่อให้ทริปเที่ยวญี่ปุ่นครั้งต่อไปราบรื่นและสนุกมากยิ่งขึ้น การรู้กฎเกณฑ์และมารยาทอย่างละเอียดนี่แหละที่จะช่วยให้เราเที่ยวแบบไม่ติดปัญหาและประทับใจในทุกความทรงจำของญี่ปุ่นอย่างแท้จริง
