Our Gameroom 🫶
My hubby and I got this room setup right after Christmas and slowly keep adding to it and improving things! I can’t wait to finally get back to streaming and posting content from here! 🥹

Creating a dedicated game room with your partner is such a fantastic bonding experience! My hubby and I have loved every step of building ours, and I wanted to share some thoughts on how you can create your own perfect couples gaming haven, drawing from our own journey and what we're still learning. First off, think about what kind of gaming you both enjoy. Are you console warriors, PC masters, or board game enthusiasts? This will heavily influence your 'game room setup currently' and future additions. For us, it's a mix, so we needed a versatile space. If you're both PC gamers, consider a dual-desk setup. We initially thought about one long desk but found two separate, smaller desks (or even L-shaped ones) provide better personal space and organization, allowing each of us to customize our own station. For console gaming, a comfortable, spacious couch or bean bags facing a large TV are essential for those co-op sessions. Comfort is key when you're spending hours together in there! We prioritized ergonomic chairs and a comfy sofa for movie nights or casual gaming. Next, let's talk about the vibe. Do you want a cozy retreat, a sleek modern hub, or a nostalgic arcade? Our space is definitely leaning towards cozy, with warm lighting and soft furnishings. This is where you can really infuse your personalities. Maybe you both love a certain game series – incorporate subtle nods to it in your decor! Think about ambient lighting too; LED strips behind monitors or shelving can really elevate the mood without being too harsh. We've found that soft, indirect lighting is perfect for long gaming sessions and doesn't strain the eyes, plus it creates a relaxed atmosphere. Don't underestimate the power of a few strategically placed plants to add life to the room! Organization is a game-changer, especially when sharing a space. Two gamers often mean double the gear! Invest in good storage solutions like shelving units, drawers, or even decorative boxes. Floating shelves are great for displaying collectibles without taking up floor space. Cable management is another big one; nobody wants a tangled mess ruining the aesthetic or tripping them up. Trust me, a tidy space makes for a much more enjoyable gaming experience and avoids those 'whose controller is this?' arguments! We use cable ties and trunking to keep everything neat and out of sight. Finally, don't forget the fun, personal touches. This is your shared space. Does one of you collect figurines? Display them! Do you have a favorite inside joke? Turn it into a custom piece of art. We've added framed artwork from games we love and even a small snack bar area with a mini-fridge for quick refreshments during intense gaming sessions. It’s these little details that transform a room into a truly unique and inviting couples game room. Remember, it's an evolving project, just like our 'game room setup currently' – have fun with it, add things slowly, and make it a reflection of your shared passions, creating a space you both love to escape to.
