Joy from Inside Out☀️

Hey everyone! So many of you asked about the process behind my Joy fanart, and I wanted to share a bit more about how I try to bring those iconic Inside Out emotions to life on paper. When I was DRAWING INSIDE OUT EMOTiONS, especially Joy, my main goal was to capture her infectious optimism and vibrant energy. It's not just about drawing the character itself, but really understanding what makes joy emotion drawing so impactful. For me, it's all about the expression – that wide, genuine smile, the sparkle in her eyes, and even her pose, which often feels like she's about to bounce right off the page! To visually depict happiness, I focus on warm, bright colors, which is why Joy's signature yellow is so perfect. Her inside out joy character yellow hue isn't just a color; it symbolizes her entire being. I love using my Artbeek/Ohuhu Markers for their smooth blending, which helps create those seamless gradients in her skin and clothes. The Grabie Paint Pens are fantastic for adding those crisp highlights and details that make her pop. And Strathmore Bristol paper? It's my go-to for its smooth surface, which really allows the markers to shine without bleeding. It's all part of creating art 'IN MY STYLE!' that feels authentic to the character. Beyond Joy, the Inside Out universe offers so many fascinating emotions to explore. I've been thinking about trying another character, perhaps someone like Ennui from Inside Out 2, or maybe even Sadness, who has her own unique charm. Each emotion presents a different artistic challenge and a chance to play with color and expression.
