My cosplays (1/2)

Now for the in-cosplay introduction. Hi, I’m Artemis & Aphrodite. I make corsets and armor and a little of everything. I love building my own set/backdrop and doing my hair & makeup so I can make a whole vision come to life. I’ve been doing this as a side project for about 10 years and I’m just now feeling like I kind of know what I’m doing. There’s so many separate skills involved in cosplay so it takes a while to build them all up and start collecting tools to help. #cosplayer #alternative #newtolemon8 #fantasy #embracevulnerability

For newcomers, the world of cosplay can be overwhelming, but it’s incredibly rewarding. Start by choosing a character that resonates with you. Research the materials needed for your costume, whether it’s fabric for corsets or foam for armor designs. Learning techniques like sewing, prop-making, and makeup will enhance your skills. Resources such as online tutorials and cosplay communities can be invaluable. Participate in forums or attend conventions to gain insight and inspiration from experienced cosplayers. Networking with others can provide support and encouragement on your cosplay journey. Remember, every expert was once a beginner! As you practice and refine your techniques, don’t forget to have fun and embrace your unique style. Embracing vulnerability in cosplay is key—every misstep is a learning opportunity on the path to creating something truly special.
