Working on an animated short that combines AI technology with original artwork has been an exciting journey. Using AI to generate visual elements helps accelerate the animation process while allowing for creative experimentation that might be time-consuming manually. The inspiration drawn from the Lightwarrior theme incorporates themes of strength and identity, which I aimed to translate through vivid visuals and character design. One of the highlights has been exploring how AI can mimic hand-drawn aesthetics, giving the animation a unique blend of modern technology with traditional artistry. This approach opens new doors for independent creators, particularly Black content creators, to bring original stories into animated forms without the high costs of conventional animation studios. I’ve also focused on community engagement by tagging relevant themes like #blackgirlslemon8 and #blackcontentcreator to connect with audiences who appreciate representation and originality. These hashtags foster conversations around the importance of diverse storytelling in animation.
