WORKING ON ARTWORK

When I title an art project "Unknown Concepts," it really encapsulates the exhilarating yet sometimes daunting journey of diving headfirst into themes that are still forming in my mind. For me, "unknown concepts" isn't about creating something completely abstract without meaning; instead, it's about giving form to those fleeting thoughts, emotions, and ideas that haven't quite solidified into a tangible narrative yet. It's an invitation to explore the liminal spaces of imagination, where ideas are born and begin to take shape. My inspiration often sparks from personal reflections, dreams, or even observations of the world around me. This particular piece, which I'm currently developing, began with a vague sense of renewal and introspection, much like the feeling of spring. I wanted to capture the essence of growth and self-discovery without dictating a specific story. It's about letting the artwork unfold organically, allowing the "unknown" to guide my hand, rather than forcing a predefined outcome. I often find that the most profound pieces emerge when I allow myself to be vulnerable to the creative process, truly embracing what comes naturally. Working on digital artwork for "Unknown Concepts" offers a unique freedom. I spend hours on my tablet screen, sketching, layering, and experimenting with colors and textures. It’s a wonderfully forgiving medium, allowing me to iterate and refine without the constraints of traditional materials. For this specific piece, I started with the idea of a central figure. I envisioned a person with brown skin, adorned subtly, perhaps with a blue garment, to symbolize a calm, grounded spirit amidst the unfolding mystery. The addition of a floral wreath came later, an intuitive choice, representing nature's cycle and the delicate beauty of emergence. Each element isn't necessarily meant to convey a precise message but rather to evoke a feeling, an atmosphere where viewers can project their own "unknowns." The biggest challenge with a project like "Unknown Concepts" is resisting the urge to define everything too early. It's easy to get caught up in making sense of every brushstroke or every color choice. But I've learned to trust the process, to let the piece breathe and evolve. There are moments of frustration when an idea doesn't quite translate, but then there are breakthroughs where colors blend perfectly or a new detail emerges that feels absolutely right. That's the magic – discovering the "unknown" within the creation itself. It’s a constant dialogue between my initial impulse and what the digital canvas demands. Ultimately, through this "Unknown Concepts" series, I hope to encourage viewers to look inward and ponder their own undefined thoughts and feelings. What do these evolving forms and colors mean to them? What personal "unknowns" resonate with the imagery? Art, especially when it explores less defined themes, becomes a mirror. It's not about finding a single answer, but about sparking a conversation within oneself, embracing the beauty of what is yet to be fully understood. This journey is as much for me as it is for anyone who encounters the work, a shared exploration of the boundless realm of imagination.
