red flags I will not ignore as a mom

hello ◡̈

As a mom, I am extremely dedicated to protecting my child's physical AND emotional well-being.

Two red flags that I will never ignore are when someone forces my child to hug or kiss them - despite their clear discomfort or refusal, and when someone makes promises to my child that they have no intention of keeping. The first is a violation of my child's boundaries and consent, and the second is a betrayal of their trust.

I will always prioritize my child's feelings and needs, and I will never hesitate to speak out or take action when someone is disregarding their boundaries or breaking their promises. My child's (& future children’s) sense of safety and security is and always will be important to me. I will do everything in my power to ensure that they always feel protected and respected by the people in their lives, especially the people that I bring into their lives.

Many mothers find themselves feeling overwhelmed when considering their child's social interactions and the people they engage with. Two major red flags pertain to situations where a child is pressured into physical contact, such as hugs or kisses, despite expressing discomfort. This can lead to long-term impacts on their emotional health and feelings of autonomy. The second red flag involves individuals making hollow promises. When children learn that trusted adults cannot fulfill their commitments, it establishes a pattern of broken trust which can affect their future relationships and self-esteem. Understanding these dynamics allows mothers to foster an environment where children feel secure and understood. Being vigilant and proactive ensures that you create a supportive space for growth, allowing your kids to develop healthy boundaries and emotional resilience. Share these insights with fellow moms to spread awareness on safeguarding our children's emotional safety and ensuring respectful interactions.

1000% on the first one , I tell my daughter it’s okay to say no, just to let them know, don’t ignore them. If that makes sense.
