I Drove 3.5 Hours for This Sweet Moment 🥹🩵
3.5 hours, barely any sleep, and I’d do it all over again 🫶🏽😌
Sometimes showing up for the people you love means getting on the road tired, grabbing some caffeine and figuring the rest out along the way 😂 and this was one of those days.
I traveled 3.5 hours to celebrate one of my favorite people as she gets ready to welcome her sweet baby boy, and it was worth every single mile. 🥹 The shower was beautiful, the details were so her, the laughs were loudddd lol, and being there for such a special moment meant more than the sleep I definitely did not get. 😂
Just one of those sweet little days I want to remember. 🤍✨
(and yes… I absolutely took a centerpiece home 😂🪻)

Traveling long distances to be present at important life events like baby showers can be surprisingly rewarding. Despite the exhaustion and early start, the energy you gain from connection and celebration often outweighs the challenges. I’ve found that planning for these trips with a good playlist, some caffeine, and comfortable stops along the way makes the journey more enjoyable. A baby shower is such a special occasion—filled with love, laughter, and thoughtful details that reflect the personality of the mom-to-be. Taking in those beautiful decorations and heartfelt moments can create lasting memories that you cherish forever. One thing I always try to do is bring a meaningful gift or keepsake, and sometimes I even take home a centerpiece that reminds me of the day, just like I did on this trip. It’s those little moments of showing up that strengthen friendships and create unforgettable experiences. If you’re ever tempted to skip out on a long drive for an event, consider the joy and connection waiting at the destination. Often, these are the little sacrifices that make life’s sweetest memories possible. For future baby showers, some helpful tips I’ve learned include arriving early to help set up, engaging in fun activities, and savoring the food and company. It makes the whole experience feel even more special and rewarding. Overall, embracing these journeys with an open heart leads to stories and moments you’ll want to remember, just like welcoming baby Malachi was for me.
