Here is redesign lute
So, you've seen my take on a Lute redesign for Hazbin Hotel, and I'm super excited to share more about the thought process behind it! I've always found Lute to be such a fascinating character – her loyalty, ferocity, and that imposing angelic design just scream potential for artistic exploration. When I decided to tackle a Lute redesign, my main goal was to keep her essence while adding a fresh, perhaps even more intimidating or nuanced, visual flair. One of the first things I considered was her signature mask. It's iconic, but how could it be subtly altered to convey more emotion or a different kind of threat? I experimented with sharper angles, different textures, and even slight variations in its shape to reflect her rigid adherence to Adam's will, or perhaps a hint of the angelic beauty she once held. Her wings are another key element; I thought about how a color palette change could impact their ethereal yet menacing presence. Would they be darker, more tattered, or perhaps possess an unexpected shimmer that contrasts with her dark personality? Talking about color palette, that was a huge part of this Lute redesign project. The original Hazbin Hotel designs are so vibrant, and Lute's existing palette is quite stark. I wanted to see how playing with different shades could emphasize her past as a Seraphim or her current role as an Exorcist leader. For instance, I explored incorporating muted golds or silvers to hint at her celestial origins, juxtaposed with deep, almost bruised purples or grays to show the corruption or duty she embodies. I also considered pops of a blood-red or electric blue to highlight her aggressive nature, making her feel even more dynamic and dangerous. It's all about telling a story through color, isn't it? I spent a lot of time poring over references, not just from Hazbin Hotel, but also from mythology and fantasy art, to gather inspiration for this Lute redesign. What kind of armor would she wear? How could her weapon, if she had one, be re-imagined to fit a new aesthetic? The challenge was to make her look fresh and original, yet unmistakably Lute. I really wanted to push the boundaries of her current design without losing what makes her *her*. I also considered the psychological aspect of Lute. She's fiercely loyal, almost to a fault, and seemingly devoid of mercy. How can a redesign convey that unwavering, almost fanatical devotion? Perhaps through unyielding lines in her clothing, or a sternness in her posture that comes through even in a static image. The Hazbin Hotel universe is rich with character depth, and bringing that out in a visual redesign, especially for someone as pivotal as Lute, is incredibly rewarding. Every choice, from the slight curvature of a horn to the intensity of a chosen shade in her color palette, aimed to enhance her story. It's truly amazing how a simple redesign can open up new interpretations of a character we already love! I’m really curious to know what you all think! When you look at fan redesigns, what elements catch your eye the most? For me, it's always the small details and how the overall color palette contributes to the character's personality. This Hazbin Hotel Lute redesign was a passion project, and I learned so much about character design and visual storytelling through the process. I hope my reimagining sparks some new ideas or appreciation for Lute's complex character!
