2nd trimester symptom & pregnancy update 🖤

... Read moreWow, can you believe I'm already 15 weeks pregnant?! It feels like just yesterday I was seeing those two lines, and now we're well into the second trimester. This stage is often called the 'golden trimester' because many of the challenging first-trimester symptoms start to ease up. For me, that's definitely been the case, but it's not without its own unique set of changes and new symptoms! If you're also at 15 weeks pregnant, here’s a peek into what I've been experiencing. First off, the morning sickness – or should I say, all-day sickness – has significantly reduced. It's such a relief to not feel queasy constantly! With that, my energy levels have had a noticeable boost. I’m not saying I'm ready to run a marathon, but I can get through my day feeling a bit more like myself, which is a huge win. This newfound energy has been amazing for tackling some nesting instincts, like organizing the nursery (even if it's still just a corner of a room!). My bump is definitely making an appearance now! It's still small enough that some days I can hide it, but other days it’s proudly showing. With this growth, I’ve started to feel some aches, particularly in my lower back. I think it’s a combination of my posture shifting and everything stretching. I’ve also had a few instances of round ligament pain—that sharp, pulling sensation in my lower abdomen when I sneeze or move too quickly. It’s a stark reminder that my uterus is growing and making space for our little one! When it comes to other symptoms, my appetite has definitely picked up. The cravings are real, and right now, anything salty or sour is my go-to! Pickles, citrus fruits, you name it. On the flip side, certain smells can still turn my stomach, so I'm still a bit picky about what I cook. I've also noticed some common pregnancy symptoms like increased vaginal discharge, which my doctor assured me is completely normal at this stage due to hormonal changes and increased blood flow. My skin has been a mixed bag; some days I feel like I have that 'pregnancy glow,' and other days I'm battling a few breakouts. My hair, however, feels thicker and healthier, which is a nice bonus! Headaches have been an occasional visitor, especially if I haven't had enough water or if I get up too quickly. Staying hydrated has become my number one priority to combat these. Emotionally, it’s still a bit of a roller coaster. One minute I'm overwhelmed with excitement and joy, and the next I'm feeling a little anxious about all the changes to come. It’s all part of the journey, and I’m trying to embrace every feeling as it comes. Overall, being 15 weeks pregnant has brought a lot of positive changes, even with the new quirks. Every pregnancy is unique, but if you're experiencing similar symptoms, know you're not alone! Listening to your body, staying hydrated, and communicating with your healthcare provider are key. Hang in there, mamas!
