Sahm errands run with a toddler 🩵❄️🚙
Oh, the joys of motherhood! As a stay-at-home mom, my days are a beautiful blend of chaos and cuddles. But let's be real, tackling errands with a spirited toddler in tow is an Olympic sport in itself. And now, being 25 weeks pregnant, it's become an even bigger challenge! I wanted to share my personal hacks and honest struggles when it comes to getting things done outside the house. First off, preparation is my secret weapon. Before we even think about stepping out the door for ERRANDS AS A SAHM, I do a mental checklist. Are snacks packed? And I mean good snacks – something like a Sweet and Nutty granola bar or fruit pouches for my little one, and definitely something for me to keep my energy up. Nothing worse than a hangry toddler and a hangry pregnant mama! I also make sure we have a fresh diaper bag, a change of clothes (for both of us, because you just never know!), and that the car seat is properly secured. Timing is everything too; I try to schedule our outings around nap times and avoid peak hours if possible. A well-rested toddler is half the battle won! Once we're out, it's all about strategy. For grocery runs, I often opt for the double cart if available, or sometimes I'll use a baby carrier for my toddler if I need the cart space. Distraction is key! A small toy, a book, or even just letting them 'help' by putting items in the cart can work wonders. I've learned to be efficient – make a list and stick to it. I also try to combine stops to minimize getting in and out of the car. On days when my 25 WEEKS PREGNANT body is really feeling it, I allow myself to do fewer things or split errands over two days. It's okay to not be a superhero every single day. And for my fellow pregnant mamas out there, listen to your body! I make sure to stay hydrated, carry a water bottle, and wear comfortable shoes. There's no shame in taking a five-minute break on a bench, even if it means we're moving a little slower. The goal isn't perfection, it's completion, and keeping both myself and my little one happy and safe. When we finally get home, it's usually straight to a relaxing activity or some quiet play. Sometimes, a quick episode of their favorite show while I put away groceries is exactly what we both need. It’s a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns, but seeing my toddler's curious face light up when we discover something new, or just having that sense of accomplishment after a successful errand run, makes it all worth it. We're building memories, one challenging but loving errand at a time. Hang in there, mamas!
