5 am morning routine 🥞🫐🍓
Early bird gets the worm 🐛 I am NOT a morning person but when our newborn wakes up for his feed at 5 am, I just get up and start the day.
It’s helped so much with feeling more productive, actually getting to eat breakfast, and having a little time to myself 🩵
Waking up at 5 AM when you have a newborn, especially around 4 weeks postpartum, can be challenging yet surprisingly rewarding. Although it's tough for anyone who isn't naturally a morning person, setting a consistent early wake-up time aligns well with your baby's feeding schedule and helps create a stable daily rhythm. From my experience, starting the day at 5 AM gave me a chance to enjoy a quiet breakfast—a small but significant moment of nourishment and peace before the day's demands. This is crucial because postpartum fatigue is common, and having a structured morning routine helps combat the feeling of being overwhelmed. I also found that following the timeline shown on the fridge and clock images—from 5 AM through mid-morning—helps in planning short bursts of activities, such as light stretching, journaling, or even prepping meals ahead. These little rituals contribute greatly to mental well-being. Moreover, embracing this early morning routine permitted me to reflect, practice mindfulness, and connect with myself outside of my mom duties. Incorporating simple pleasures like pancakes and berries brought moments of joy amidst the challenges of postpartum life. If you're navigating postpartum mornings, consider gradually adjusting your wake-up time and creating a flexible plan that suits your baby’s schedule. Remember, this time is valuable for resetting your mind and body, and can foster a sense of accomplishment early in the day. Over time, it enhances productivity and emotional balance, helping new mothers thrive during a transformative period.
