We loved everything about where we stayed while in South Eastern Utah! It’s a little bit of a drive from any of the airports/national parks, but for us that was part of the appeal.
We got into a good groove of waking up, driving to wherever we were hiking for the day, driving back, grabbing some food from the cafe on site (they had tasty wood fired pizzas, salads/wraps, smoothies, etc.), then hitting the hot tub to relax our muscles before bed and doing it all over again.
We didn’t experience everything they have to offer this time around, but we’ll likely be back one day. It would be a great place to stay for couples, groups, and families alike. They have traditional hotel rooms, larger hotel rooms, glamping tepees, and a few condos to choose from to accommodate groups/ families of all sizes. They have lots of cozy outdoor sitting areas, a pool/ playground for kids, a spa for the adults, and offer a variety of backroading, rafting, and canyoneering type expeditions too!
Everything was super clean, all of the staff were super kind, helpful, and accommodating, and the price was unbelievably affordable for how nice everything was! We could’ve stayed in any number of (much less nice) hotels/ motels in the towns around the national parks and would have spent the same amount in lodging.
I wanted to share a bit more about why Bluff Dwellings Resort and Spa in southeastern Utah completely blew us away, especially for those planning an adventure to the area! When we were searching for places to stay, we wanted something unique that also served as a great hub for exploring. Bluff Dwellings totally delivered, acting as our perfect base for tackling the stunning landscapes nearby. While it’s true you’ll have a bit of a scenic drive from major airports and national parks, that's exactly what makes it special. For anyone eyeing a trip to the iconic Monument Valley, this resort is a fantastic strategic stop. We found it ideal for day trips, heading out to explore incredible sights and then returning to our peaceful retreat. The journey itself through the dramatic red rock country is part of the experience, and coming back to the comfort of Bluff Dwellings after a long day of hiking was priceless. You're nestled beautifully amidst the natural and cultural surroundings, making you feel truly immersed in the Southwest. Let me tell you more about the accommodations. Beyond the traditional hotel rooms, which were incredibly spacious and clean – we even saw one with three queen beds, perfect for a family or group – the glamping tepees are a must-try! Imagine staying in a tepee with modern comforts, traditional designs, all set against a backdrop of rocky desert cliffs. It’s an unforgettable experience and really adds to the adventurous spirit of a Utah trip. They also have a few condos, offering flexibility for different group sizes. What truly made our evenings special after all the exploration was the resort's fantastic amenities. The cafe on-site was a lifesaver. Their wood-fired pizza, especially the chicken ranch, was unbelievably good after a day on the trails! Plus, they had healthy options like salads and smoothies. And nothing beats soaking in the bubbling hot tub with resort buildings and magnificent rocky cliffs in the background, easing those tired muscles. We also loved gathering around the outdoor fire pit in the evenings. It’s such a cozy spot, surrounded by Adirondack chairs, perfect for stargazing and sharing stories of the day's adventures. The spa for adults and the playground/pool for kids means there's something for everyone to unwind. And if you're looking for even more adventure, they offer diverse expeditions like backroading, rafting, and canyoneering right from the resort. It really felt like a full-service adventure hub. Considering the spotless cleanliness, the incredibly kind and helpful staff, and the genuinely unbelievably affordable price for such a high-quality stay, Bluff Dwellings Resort is truly a hidden gem. It offers so much more than just a place to sleep; it’s an experience in itself. If you're planning a trip to southeastern Utah, especially if Monument Valley or other national parks are on your list, I can't recommend Bluff Dwellings enough. It’s worth the drive for a unique and comfortable stay that won't break the bank.
