Monster High redesign

Hey ghouls and guys! So, I've been sitting on these Monster High redesigns for a while, and it's high time I shared them with you all. As a huge fan, I love seeing how other artists interpret these iconic characters, and I wanted to throw my hat into the ring. First up, let's talk about Draculaura. When I started her redesign, I really wanted to embrace her vampiric elegance but give it a modern, almost gothic-chic twist. I kept her signature light pink skin and those adorable pointed ears, but played with her hair, keeping the long pink and black stripes vibrant. For her outfit, I envisioned a pink and white dress with delicate heart details, making sure it felt both sweet and a little spooky, paired with dark red boots that scream 'vampire fashionista.' The goal was to make her look like she could float effortlessly through the hallways of Monster High or haunt a trendy art gallery. Then there's Frankie Stein. She's always been one of my favorites because of her unique stitched-together look. For her redesign, I emphasized her green skin and visible stitches, making them a feature rather than just a detail. Her black and white striped hair is classic, but I gave it more volume and a playful style. And those mismatched eyes? Absolutely essential! Her outfit was a blast to create – a patchwork ensemble combining plaid and checkerboard patterns. I wanted her to look like a walking fashion experiment, a true testament to her 'made' nature. And of course, I couldn't forget Clawdeen Wolf! She's fierce, fashionable, and all about that werewolf power. My redesign for her features a brown-furred werewolf with long, wavy hair that just oozes confidence. I put her in a pink and black striped crop top, because she's got to show off that style, right? Paired with a studded belt and some purple leopard print shorts, she's ready to dominate the fashion scene and maybe even go on an adventure or two. I aimed for a look that's both wild and utterly chic. Creating these designs using digital art in Procreate was an absolute joy. I love how much freedom digital tools give you to experiment with colors, textures, and lines. My process usually starts with rough sketches to get the pose and basic idea down, then I layer on the details, focusing on their unique monster traits and fashion sense. It's all about finding that balance between honoring the original characters and infusing them with my own artistic vision. I hope my 'art dump' gives you some inspiration too!
