My two year old’s birthday party
So glad she loves this show as much as I did as a kid. This party was over the summer, but I thought I’d post it here for inspiration for someone else. 🫶🏻#toddlerpartyideas #kidbirthdaypartyideas #maxandruby #Lemon8Diary #toddlerparty
Birthday party set found on Amazon.
When I decided on a Max & Ruby themed birthday party for my two-year-old, I knew the decorations had to be spot on. It was such a joy to bring one of our favorite childhood shows to life for her special day, and hopefully, these ideas can inspire your own Max & Ruby birthday celebration! The centerpiece for our decor was definitely the Max & Ruby themed birthday banner with red and white stripes and various characters, which instantly set the cheerful mood. I found a fantastic party set on Amazon that included matching plates, napkins, and balloons, making the setup a breeze. To enhance the theme, I also used red, white, and pink streamers and balloons to complement the characters' iconic colors. For an extra special touch, you could add cutouts of Max's favorite toys like his frog or Ruby's tea set around the party area. Simple DIY additions, like hanging printed pictures of favorite show moments, can really immerse your guests in the whimsical world of Max and Ruby without breaking the bank. No birthday party is complete without a show-stopping cake! For my little one's celebration, we had a beautiful pink birthday cake with yellow frosting swirls and colorful sprinkles, topped with an adorable round Max & Ruby 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' cake topper. If you're not a baking pro, many local bakeries can create a similar design, or you can even buy a plain pink cake and add your own topper and sprinkles for a custom look. And let's talk about the cupcakes – they were a huge hit! We served delicious chocolate cupcakes topped with gummy worms and various Max & Ruby character cutouts. These were surprisingly easy to make at home. Just bake your favorite chocolate cupcakes, frost them with a light-colored frosting (like vanilla or yellow), then gently press a few gummy worms into the frosting. You can easily find printable Max & Ruby characters online, cut them out, and attach them to toothpicks to stick into each cupcake, creating those charming 'gummy muffin characters' that everyone loved! Beyond the cake and cupcakes, I wanted to have some fun 'Max & Ruby food' options that were simple and kid-friendly. Max is always snacking, so mini sandwiches cut into bunny shapes, 'Ruby's Raspberry Delights' (fresh raspberries or raspberry jelly sandwiches), or 'Max's Mud Pies' (chocolate pudding cups with crushed Oreos and a gummy worm on top) would fit perfectly. Don't forget some healthy options too, like vegetable sticks with dip or colorful fruit skewers. Keeping the food simple, cute, and colorful aligns perfectly with the show's spirit and makes for a delightful spread. To keep the little guests entertained during our 'ruby birthday celebration', consider some easy Max & Ruby themed activities. A 'Bunny Hop' race in the garden, a story time reading of a classic Max & Ruby book, or a craft station where kids can decorate their own bunny ears are all wonderful ideas. For party favors, small Max & Ruby coloring books, stickers, or even little bunny-shaped cookies would be delightful takeaways, ensuring the magic of the 'max and ruby themed birthday party' lives on even after the party ends. Planning a 'ruby birthday party' or a full 'max and ruby birthday party' doesn't have to be overwhelming. With a clear theme and a few key elements focusing on fun decorations and tasty treats, you can create a truly memorable day for your toddler!
