3 looks with 1 outfit | chic, trendy, & casual

Wanna know a secret? I’m an outfit repeater 🤭 but no one notices because I make the same outfit look different every time I wear it by simply changing the jacket! I took 1 simple outfit with pieces most people have in their closet & by styling it with a different jacket it completely changes the vibe of the look!

Jacket 1: trench coat for a classic chic look

Trench coats are super trendy right now but they have been & will always be a classic! They are so chic and honestly kinda become the outfit when you have it on. Pairing with this base outfit gives a minimalist vibe. The pieces all work together perfectly! I grabbed this one at TJ Maxx in a size Large. I recommended sizing up in trench coats so you can fit layers underneath. I’m a true XS but I grabbed a large in this one!

Jacket 2: oversized leather moto jacket for a trendy look

I LOVE this look! I love a leather jacket, I love anything oversized! I think a leather jacket automatically makes anything look cool, chic and kinda European to me? But this style is super on trend as well. It’s more fun and edgy then a trench cost & more dressed up than the jean jacket. This would be a perfect going out for dinner or drinks outfit. Because the jacket came oversized, I got my true size XS. NAKD is a euro brand so their sizing is a bit weird. 34 = XS!

Jacket 3: vintage jean jacket for a casual look

A jean jacket is a closet staple! It definitely made the overall look more casual even though I’m wearing heeled boots. If you don’t have a denim jacket, I definitely recommend grabbing one. I love that this one is a bit cropped, I find it more flattering than a super baggy oversized one. Denim is a heavy material so sometimes too much of it is overbearing on me! I thrifted mine and I’d do it again and again over buying new! They are super easy to thrift, almost all thrift stores I’ve been to have them. I grabbed this one at a Savers, but if your local thrift doesn’t have any - try a vintage store that is more curated! Always check the men’s section! I got a size Small in this so that I could fit layers underneath but it would still be fitted in case I wanna wear it all the way buttoned up. I’d say to go one size larger if you want a similar fit.

Which is your fav look? What jacket would you add to this base to get a new vibe?

For example, trench coats almost instantly add a polished and sophisticated touch, especially when you size up for layering comfort as mentioned. They create that effortless minimalist vibe that’s perfect for both workdays and weekend outings. On the other hand, leather moto jackets bring an edge and trend-forward feel to the same base outfit. Their oversized nature lends a relaxed yet stylish silhouette. I’ve found that these jackets are particularly great for cooler evenings or casual dinners, giving you a look that is both chic and approachable. Plus, European brands like NAKD often have unique sizing, so getting familiar with size charts is a must to get the perfect fit. When it comes to vintage denim jackets, the cropped styles are a game changer in terms of flattering proportions. Thrifting these pieces not only adds personality but also supports sustainable fashion practices. I've personally enjoyed hunting through thrift and vintage shops, often finding hidden gem jean jackets that add character and a casual flair whether paired with heels or sneakers. Checking both women’s and men’s sections can widen your options dramatically. Styling jackets to completely transform an outfit also makes fashion shopping more budget-friendly and sustainable. Instead of buying a whole new look, simply swapping jackets can adjust vibes from casual brunch dates to polished office looks or trendy night outs. It’s all about understanding the versatility of your wardrobe staples and playing with proportions, textures, and layers. Have you tried layering different jackets over your go-to outfit? What jacket styles do you find refresh your look the most? Sharing personal finds and styling tips really helps build a community around smart, sustainable fashion choices.
