The portrayal of the broody hockey player and the lonely figure skater resonates because it highlights how two seemingly opposite people can find common ground through shared struggles. The dark academia elements add a mysterious atmosphere that deepens the plot and gives the story a unique charm. The theme of old secrets haunting the children of legacies particularly stood out to me, as it explores how past family conflicts can shape present relationships. This element adds layers to the characters, making their interactions feel more authentic and their chemistry more palpable. The author’s ability to blend romance with suspense and personal drama keeps readers fully engaged from start to finish. For anyone who loves enemies to lovers settings with a touch of mystery and steamy moments, this book offers a perfect mix. I also appreciated the realistic pacing in the relationship development—there’s no rushed romance but rather a believable slow build that makes falling in love feel earned rather than forced. The cliffhanger at the end left me eager to continue the series and see how the characters navigate the secrets and challenges ahead.
