Update on my garden journey, since spring is starting, we’re having a lot more blooms so get ready for more garden content! (And chicken content lol) #garden #gardening #strawberries #roses #cats
Spring is truly the most rewarding season for any garden enthusiast. As the weather warms, plants that have been dormant all winter begin to awaken, creating a colorful and lively outdoor space. For me, the most exciting part has been witnessing the strawberry plants flourish—there's something incredibly satisfying about growing your own fresh fruit right in your backyard. Strawberries are relatively easy to care for but do require consistently moist soil and plenty of sun to thrive. Roses, another highlight of my garden, add a classic touch of elegance and fragrance. I’ve learned that deadheading spent blooms encourages new flowers to form, prolonging the blooming period. Also, keeping an eye out for pests like aphids and treating them early helps maintain healthy plants. Incorporating chickens into the garden has added an extra layer of joy and sustainability. Chickens naturally help control pests and provide nutrient-rich fertilizer through their droppings, which benefits the soil and plants. Watching their lively antics adds charm and a personal connection to the natural environment. For those thinking of starting a garden this spring, I recommend starting small—focus on a few favorite plants and gradually expand. Pay attention to local climate conditions and select plants that will thrive in your area. Don’t forget to enjoy the process; gardening is as much about nurturing yourself as it is about nurturing your plants. I’m excited to share more updates and tips throughout the season as the garden continues to grow and change. Stay tuned for more insights on gardening techniques, plant care, and the fun moments with my chickens and even my cats, who often join the garden adventures.
