hi guys! you already know i’m dr pepper’s number one fan but look at what i found at walmart! i’ve been looking for it for a month now and we finally got them in my local stores.
now, i really did like it. it’s a float-style ice cream, so it has a swirl of vanilla throughout. the ratio of dr pepper to vanilla is very good, and it definitely tastes like dr pepper/a soda float. my only problem is that it’s a little too sweet for me? but if you have a big sweet tooth and like super sweet, sorta artificial flavors (think cotton candy ice cream, THAT sweet), then you’ll probably love this.
don’t get me wrong, i’m finishing the whole pint. i love dr pepper and i LOVE soda floats, but it’s just a bit much for me personally. if you try it, let me know what you think!! i’m so curious!!
(and if you love a soda float ice cream, walmart has a very good great value root beer float quart that i really like!)
... Read moreAfter trying the trending Dr. Pepper Float Ice Cream from Blue Bell, I totally get why everyone's looking for it! That unique Dr. Pepper flavor swirled with creamy vanilla is something else. The original review gave it three stars, highlighting its float-style taste but noting it might be a bit too sweet for some. But if you're like me and sometimes find store-bought versions a tad too sweet, or if you can't find the Blue Bell pint at your local Walmart, don't worry! There are so many ways to get your Dr. Pepper ice cream fix, and even tweak it to your liking.
My absolute favorite way to enjoy this classic combination is by making a DIY Dr. Pepper float at home. It’s super simple and you control the sweetness! Grab a cold Dr. Pepper and a good quality vanilla ice cream. The OCR scan even mentioned a Dr. Pepper sherbet swirl, which you can mimic by adding a little Dr. Pepper syrup to your ice cream. I usually put 2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream into a tall glass, then slowly pour the Dr. Pepper over it. Watch it fizz! The magic happens as the soda mixes with the melting ice cream, creating that irresistible creamy, bubbly texture. Sometimes I add a dash of real vanilla extract to the soda before pouring for an extra layer of flavor, or even a splash of cherry syrup if I'm craving that Dr. Pepper cherry vanilla vibe – it really enhances the Dr. Pepper flavor.
If you found the pre-made Dr. Pepper ice cream too sweet, making your own float allows you to adjust. You can use less ice cream, or even opt for a sugar-free Dr. Pepper. Another fun twist I've tried is using different ice cream flavors – a cream swirl vanilla bean or even a plain vanilla yogurt for a lighter option. For those interested in a dr pepper float protein ice cream recipe, you can blend a scoop of vanilla protein powder with a small amount of milk and then slowly mix in diet Dr. Pepper for a guilt-free treat. It won't be exactly the same texture, but it hits the flavor notes!
Beyond simple floats, you can also experiment with Dr. Pepper in other desserts. I've seen dr pepper jello recipes that are surprisingly good, or even uses for Dr. Pepper syrup in milkshakes. It's all about embracing that unique Dr. Pepper flavor. And if you're exploring walmart finds for alternatives, don't forget to check out their Great Value brand for other soda float ice creams, as the original article mentioned a great root beer option. Sometimes these off brand dr pepper or generic soda-flavored items can be hidden gems! Whether you're grabbing a pint of Blue Bell or crafting your own masterpiece, the world of Dr. Pepper ice cream is definitely worth exploring. Let me know your favorite way to enjoy it!
Van Leeuwen’s Arizona green tea flavor is some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had, I don’t know if Walmart still has it tho 🥺
