The first dark mafia romance book I’ve ever read. I love it. It was a nice change to see the FMC actually let the MMC take care of her. And I love the fact that their favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz, one of my own faves. A considerable age gap, but that held no issue for them to be on the same page of things. This was the epitome of ‘touch her and die.’ (Someone really died cuz of it) This was definitely worth the read, truly enjoyed it.
Reading Nero gave me a fresh perspective on the dark mafia romance genre. What stood out most was how the male main character (MMC) didn't just dominate; he cared deeply for the female main character (FMC), creating a protective dynamic that felt authentic rather than stereotypical. The couple’s connection through their shared love for The Wizard of Oz adds an unexpected layer of depth and relatability, something I personally appreciated since I’m a fan of the movie too. The considerable age gap between the protagonists might scare some readers away, but here it serves as a testament to their mutual understanding and emotional synchronization. The intense themes are balanced by genuine moments of tenderness, making the story thrilling without becoming overwhelmingly dark. If you're new to mafia romance like I was, Nero is a great entry point. It blends suspense with romance and features a strong-willed heroine who doesn’t hesitate to let the hero protect her. The book’s action-packed scenes and emotional stakes kept me hooked until the very end. The tagline 'Touch her and die' literally means danger and loyalty go hand in hand, which adds to the high stakes in their relationship. Finally, for readers looking for something layered and electric, this novel proves that mafia romance can offer more than just power struggles—it can tell a story about trust, healing, and fierce protection. This book is definitely worth picking up if you enjoy dark, passionate love stories with complex characters.
