My Breast Health Scare Changed Everything
In March, my world paused. I had just gotten out of the shower when I noticed yellow fluid leaking from my right breast. Fear hit me like a wave; breast cancer runs in my family, I’ve had aunts and a few cousins battle it as well as my mother in law and thank God they are all survivors!🙌🏾
After several tests, mammograms, and appointments, I was diagnosed with a hypoechoic mass, papilloma. Thank God it was benign, but surgery was still required. I’m 38, and yearly mammograms are officially part of my life. That moment reminded me that taking care of our bodies isn’t optional. it’s stewardship.
Health Strategies Every Woman Should Follow:
🩷 Do your self-breast exams monthly. Early detection saves lives.
🩷 Schedule your annual mammogram, especially if you’re over 35 or have a family history.
🩷 Maintain a balanced diet—more leafy greens, less processed food.
🩷 Stay physically active to regulate hormones and boost immunity.
🩷 Limit alcohol intake and avoid smoking.
🩷 Listen to your body—don’t ignore pain, changes, or discharge.
If you’ve been putting off your checkup, this is your sign. Don’t wait until it’s too late, schedule your mammogram, share your story, and tag a sister to remind her to do the same. Awareness saves lives, faith sustains them.
