Prayer Board

Our kids may not remember every toy we bought, but they’ll always remember the moments we created together.

Lately I’ve been finding new ways to bond with my daughter since she’s officially entered her preteen era. And let me tell you, these years fly by so fast! I want to be intentional about creating one-on-one moments that matter, so we did something special… we made a Prayer Board. 🙏🏽

We took a little trip to Hobby Lobby and grabbed everything we needed, posters, markers, stickers, all the fun stuff! I let her decorate her board however she wanted, but the most beautiful part was teaching her how to write her prayers. Whether it was for school, her friends, or her future dreams, I wanted her to understand that prayer isn’t just for adults. It’s her direct line to God.

It’s so important that we, as parents, teach our children how to pray and talk to God. Proverbs 22:6 tells us, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Prayer builds their faith early and helps them understand that no matter what life throws at them, God is always listening.

Philippians 4:6 reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” That’s exactly what I want her to carry into every stage of her life, peace, faith, and gratitude.
