You cannot be saved and carnal at the same time!

In my personal journey exploring faith, I've often grappled with what it truly means to be saved versus living a carnal life. The distinction is profound yet sometimes underestimated or misunderstood. Being "carnal," as described in Romans 8:6, means living led by the flesh—our base desires and worldly comforts—rather than by the Spirit. This leads to a life tethered to death and spiritual stagnation. Salvation isn’t merely a title or identity; it's a fundamental transformation—a new birth as articulated in 2 Corinthians 5:17. It’s not about achieving perfection, but about genuine change in direction and heart posture. A saved life acknowledges sin and struggles but does not settle in it or justify it. Instead, it responds to conviction, allowing grace to fuel growth and sanctification. One critical lesson I've learned is the role of grace—not as a license for compromise but as the power to overcome sin and live wholesomely. Many mistakenly view grace as a free pass to indulge in sin, but Romans 6:1-2 clearly refutes this idea, emphasizing that grace saves us from sin. Moreover, true faith manifests in visible fruit—conviction, desire for holiness, and continual growth. If these are absent, it’s worth reflecting on whether faith has truly taken root or is only a superficial label, sometimes visible only on social media platforms. The call to surrender is challenging and often uncomfortable, but it’s vital for healing and spiritual maturity. Conviction should not be resisted as judgment but embraced as mercy leading us higher. Evaluating where we stand—Spirit-led or comfort-led—is a crucial step toward authentic Christian living.
