Netflix recommendation:Rob Peace

This Netflix movie is based on a true story, as well as a book.

Rob is a smart little boy turned young man whose main goal in life was to help others out with the tools and knowledge he had. The first person he wanted to help was his father who was convicted of a crime.

I have not read the book as of yet but plan on reading it due to how much I enjoyed the Netflix movie! I can’t wait to compare the two!

If you love movies based on true life events i recommend this movie! If you are a book girlie like me then i recommend reading the book as well! Let me know what you think

... Read moreI just finished watching 'Rob Peace' on Netflix, and I absolutely had to share my thoughts. This film is so much more than just a movie; it's a deeply moving experience based on a true story that really stayed with me long after the credits rolled. If you've been wondering if this is worth your time, let me tell you my take. The film delves into the fascinating, yet incredibly challenging, life of Robert Peace, a brilliant young man from Newark. From the very beginning, you're drawn into his world, witnessing his extraordinary intellect and his unwavering dedication to his family, especially his father. The movie beautifully portrays his journey from humble beginnings to the prestigious halls of Yale, showcasing the immense pressure and conflicting loyalties he faced. What truly struck me about 'Rob Peace' is its authenticity. It doesn't shy away from the complexities of his life, exploring themes of ambition, systemic injustice, family bonds, and the constant struggle to reconcile different facets of one's identity. You can feel the weight of his decisions and the impact of his past on his future. It’s a powerful reminder that life's paths are rarely straightforward, especially when you're trying to navigate two very different worlds. I haven't read the book yet, 'The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace' by Jeff Hobbs, but after watching this major motion picture, it's definitely shot to the top of my reading list! The movie has made me so curious to compare the adaptation with the original story and delve even deeper into Robert's life. It's truly inspiring how the film captures the essence of a remarkable individual who, despite facing immense obstacles, strived to use his knowledge to help others. For anyone searching for a compelling drama on Netflix that's rooted in a profound 'historia real,' I wholeheartedly recommend 'Rob Peace.' It's not just a story; it's a conversation starter about resilience, societal challenges, and the enduring human spirit. Make sure to grab some tissues, because this one is a real emotional journey. Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it!
