Hey bookworms! Since I mentioned diving headfirst into holiday reads, I wanted to share a bit more about the specific books that have been keeping me company lately. It’s always fun to discover new authors and stories, especially when the weather outside makes you just want to curl up with a good book (or an amazing audiobook!). First up, a huge shoutout to Lucinda Berry! As I mentioned, I’ve really fallen for her writing style. Her psychological thrillers are just so gripping, and I find myself completely immersed in the characters' minds. One of her recent books I finished, 'When She Returned', really stood out. The premise itself is haunting: a woman mysteriously reappears after years, but nothing is quite as it seems. I listened to this one as an audiobook, and the narration really heightened the suspense. If you love a story that keeps you guessing and explores deep psychological themes, you absolutely have to check out Lucinda Berry’s work. Her ability to craft complex characters and intricate plots is just phenomenal. I'm always looking for her next release! Next on my recent reads list was 'The Housemaid's Wedding' by Freida McFadden. Oh my goodness, Freida McFadden never disappoints with her twisty thrillers! This book was a wild ride from start to finish. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, she threw in another curveball. If you’re a fan of domestic thrillers with unexpected reveals, you’ll definitely want to pick this one up. I rated it 3 stars, which for me, means it was a solid, entertaining read that kept me engaged. It’s perfect for a weekend binge, and I finished it quite quickly, around November 22nd. And then there was 'What Have You Done?' by Shari Lapena. This was another fantastic psychological thriller that I devoured. Shari Lapena is brilliant at creating tense, unsettling atmospheres, and this book was no exception. It explores the dark underbelly of seemingly perfect lives, and I found myself constantly questioning everyone’s motives. I gave this one 3 stars as well, and it was a great way to close out my December reading, finishing it on the 2nd. It's a great choice if you enjoy stories where secrets unravel and trust is a fragile thing. Finding great books like these truly makes my reading journey so enjoyable. Whether it's the chilling suspense of Lucinda Berry, the shocking twists of Freida McFadden, or the intricate mysteries of Shari Lapena, each author brings something unique to the psychological thriller genre. I love how these stories can transport you and make you forget about everything else for a while. So, if you’re looking for your next captivating read, especially if you’re into thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, I highly recommend exploring these authors. Have you read any of them? What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear your favorite thrillers or Lucinda Berry books in the comments!
