I had SO many highlights in this book because every few pages Netta was saying something that had me stopping to reread it.
Two of my absolute favorites:

Rivah felt completely alone in the world. Heartbroken. Guarded. Walls built sky high. She didn’t trust men, so she decided to treat them exactly how they’d been treating women for years.
She got what she wanted… and sent them on their way.
Because why not??
If men can do it without blinking an eye, why can’t women?
“It’s cool when they do it… it’s a problem when I do it…” 🤷🏽♀️
Rivah read a negro for FILTH every chance she got, and whew… she never apologized for taking up space or choosing herself. I loved that for her. She reminded women that it’s okay to put yourself first.

I didn’t see it until literally seconds before the reveal, and I actually loved that because it kept me on my toes the entire time.
Netta definitely got me with this one.
