📚 BOOK REVIEW: Lucid Dreams by Ladii Nesha
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/10 RECOMMEND!)
WHEWWWW! 😮💨
This book gave me EVERYTHING.
Heartache. Pain. Laughter. Frustration. Healing. Growth.
I laughed… I got mad… my heart broke… then somehow it all came back together. This one had me feeling every single emotion.
Dai & Nite ❤️🩹
Talk about being dealt a bad hand from the very beginning.
These two are walking red flags… but somehow in the BEST way. 🤣
Their lives were filled with childhood trauma, grief that was never dealt with, partying, popping 💊, chasing fast money, and surviving the streets. They had absolutely no guidance.
They are reckless.
They are hilarious.
They say WHATEVER comes to mind. 😂
But underneath all of that?
They’re just two broken boys trying to survive the only life they’ve ever known.
Watching them slowly grow through love and genuine connection was one of my favorite parts of this story.
Dai 👑
Dai is hands down book brother material.
One thing I loved most about him was that he completely challenged what people think a “real man” should look like.
He’s unapologetically himself.
He’s into self-care.
He knows exactly what he likes.
He’s comfortable in his own skin.
People can think whatever they want about his romantic preferences…
Dai doesn’t.
And honestly?
I loved that for him.
Nite 🖤
Nite is THAT guy.
The calmer one.
More calculated.
More guarded.
He buries his emotions so deep that they come out as anger instead.
But when it comes to protecting the people he loves?
He’s the first one standing.
The protector.
The safe place.
The one everybody runs to.
Nite carried so much weight on his shoulders, and my heart broke for him more than once.
Ms. Hunter 🥹
Now Ms. Hunter …
Baby.
No little girl should ever have to grow up the way she did.
My heart genuinely hurt for her throughout this entire book.
To constantly be talked down to.
To be mistreated by the very people who are supposed to love and protect you…
That was hard to read.
So when Hunter finally found her voice…
When she finally started standing up for herself and putting EVERYBODY in their place…
BABY I WAS CHEERING!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This book tested EVERYTHING:
💰 Greed
🤝 Loyalty
👀 Jealousy
🔒 Trust
The past refuses to stay buried, and all three of them are forced to face the pain they’ve spent years trying to outrun.
The question is…
How do you heal when your past keeps hunting you?
Final Thoughts ✨
This story reminded me that sometimes the people who seem the hardest to love are carrying the heaviest burdens.
I’m so glad Dai, Nite, and Hunter found each other because they became exactly what the others didn’t even realize they needed.
This wasn’t just about surviving.
It was about healing.
Finding family.
Learning to trust.
And realizing that your past doesn’t have to define your future.
This one gave me ALL THE FEELS, and I couldn’t put it down.
