Did the wind ruin my wedding photos?

The whole time I was getting ready for my wedding I was so anxious! I heard the wind from inside my airbnb, I kept wishing that the wind would slow down or stop all together! I kept thinking about the day before having such perfect weather, clear skies and literally like no wind what’s so ever, It was actually a little hot.

The time kept getting closer and closer to when I had to leave for the venue and the wind didn’t get better if anything I think it got worse! I stayed calm for the most part but once I arrived to the venue the wind was out of control, almost pulling my veil of my head completely! 😫 The photographer reassured me that he loves wind at a wedding because it gives more movement to the pictures. As I walked down the aisle I still couldn’t help but think about how windy it was and how frustrated it was making me. I kept having to fix my hair from getting in my face and my dad actually had to stand behind me holding my veil down once I got the to alter. I whispered to my partner how annoyed I was with the wind and he just reminded me how beautiful I looked and the amazing location we were at to put my mind at ease!

Fast forward a couple weeks and we got our wedding photos! To my surprise the pictures turned out so incredible. If we didn’t have such a windy day we wouldn’t have gotten the epic action shots we did! I think the wind gave our photos such a cute and unique vibe almost out of a magazine! 😭 I couldn’t be happier with them, the photographer really did an amazing job, I feel so blessed to have such beautiful photos to remember such a special day! 🫶🏽

What do you think? Do you think the wind ruined my photos? How would you feel if it was extremely windy on your wedding day? Do you think I was over reacting?

... Read moreWeddings are filled with unpredictability, and weather can be one of the biggest concerns. Wind can be a daunting factor, but it also has the potential to create dynamic, memorable photography. Many photographers argue that wind can add a sense of movement and emotion to your images, enhancing elements like veils and flowing fabrics. When planning your big day, consider having a backup plan for windy conditions, such as indoor venues or sheltered outdoor areas. Many couples have found that despite initial stress over wind, the resulting candid shots can be some of their favorites. Incorporating elements such as wind-fluffed hair and billowing attire can lead to stunning photos that tell a genuine story. If you’re worried about the wind ruining your special moments, remember to embrace the unpredictability. Engage with your photographer about creative ways to work with the weather, showcasing the beauty of your special day regardless of nature’s challenges. Ultimately, it’s the love and joy of the occasion that shines through, turning potential disasters into cherished memories.

Beautiful photos! 😍 you were not over reacting. I got married a few months ago in March. While I thought the fluctuations in temperatures & rain would have been my biggest issue, it was indeed the wind 😩. I tried to remain in the moment knowing I’d never live this day again, only have the memories so it was best to just be and trust our photographer and videographer. And surely, the photos/video like yours just came to life and made the day even better to look back on. Every baby hair blowing around my face, my veil looking non existent. My husband’s tux jacket being blown in every direction but to his body. Perfection! ❤️
