Lukas, My Son ❤️
Today I have been thinking about the upcoming holiday and my birthday. I look forward to getting the family together this time of year. Seeing everyone is the greatest gift! My son, Lukas, and his girlfriend, Portia, are coming in to town for my birthday and Thanksgiving. I miss my son so much and cannot wait to see him! Portia is such a sweetheart too. Blessed to have her in his life 💗. Empty nest mom life is a real thing! I am so proud of my son and his career, but miss having him (and his sister, she lives with us, but is always working or with her boyfriend) around as part of my daily life. Nothing really prepares you for it as a parent. You just kind of crash and burn after they move out and on with their own lives. They don’t really need you as much. Your life changes so fast.

My mom has me and my two older brothers who live on their own. She just started doing 6 months in one state and 6 months in the other. Leaving me behind.
