It's so much fun to think about building your perfect island, especially after a fresh reset! I totally get wanting to fill your island with your absolute favorite Animal Crossing New Horizons villagers. My dream list definitely includes sweeties like Sherb and Maple, who are just adorable with their cozy vibes. Sherb, my birthday twin, has that sleepy, lazy personality that makes him instantly lovable, and Maple is just the cutest normal cub, always so thoughtful. Beyond just listing them, what makes a villager a 'dreamie' for you? For me, it's a mix of their unique design, their personality type, and sometimes even their house interior! Villagers like Tia, with her elegant teacup house, or the charming Chelsea, who brings a touch of Sanrio magic, really stand out. And who can forget the lovely Fauna or the always-hungry Molly? Each one adds such a distinct flavor to your island community. So, once you've got your dream list, how do you actually get them to move in? It can be a bit of a journey, but here are my top tips based on my own island-hopping adventures: Nook Miles Ticket Islands: This is probably the most common method. When you have an empty plot, use Nook Miles Tickets to visit mystery islands. You'll find a random villager there, and if it's one of your dreamies (or someone you'd love to have!), invite them! It can take a lot of tickets, so stack up those Nook Miles! Campsite Visitors: Every so often, a random villager will visit your campsite. If it's a dreamie, definitely chat them up repeatedly until they agree to move in. Be warned: they might suggest kicking out one of your existing villagers, so be ready to reset your game if you don't like who they pick! Amiibo Cards: This is the most reliable way! If you have the amiibo card for a specific villager, you can scan it at the Nook Stop terminal. Invite them to your campsite three times, complete their DIY requests each day, and on the third day, they'll agree to move in. You can even choose which existing villager they replace! This is how I finally got my beloved Ozzie back on my first island, he's an OG for me. Trading Communities: Check out online communities like Reddit or Discord! Many players trade villagers who are in "boxes" (moving out). This can be a great way to find popular villagers like Gala or Ava, but always be cautious and use reputable channels. Building a dream island isn't just about getting specific villagers; it's also about creating a harmonious community. Think about balancing different personality types (lazy, normal, peppy, jock, snooty, smug, cranky, sisterly) so your island always feels lively.
