TikTok dinner: Philly cheesesteak Egg rolls
Here’s another dinner brought to you by TikTok. They have a ton of different ones on TikTok. Just search Philly cheesesteak and pick one that works best for you. Some of them are more in depth. I picked an easy one.
It was just diced onion and bell pepper, a certain type of steak (steak ems) , provolone cheese, and some seasonings (salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce) and then you stuff it inside of the eggrolls and then put them in oil. Cook them for about 4 to 6 minutes and that’s it.
I did pair this with a creamy garlic dipping sauce, and that was so amazing! It was made with mayo, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic. Simple and amazing!
To be honest, these kind of came out a bit oily and I don’t like the flavor of the steak that we got it was already preseasoned, but I’m not sure what with and I definitely feel like I could have added more seasoning to the mixture. I also didn’t add enough cheese. The garlic sauce was amazing, but I ended up reading the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls a 2 1/2 or three out of five probably won’t make again for a while and when I do, I’ll definitely make those alterations.
Trying out Philly cheesesteak egg rolls at home was an interesting culinary adventure for me. I appreciated the ease of combining diced onion, bell pepper, sliced steak (steak ems), and provolone cheese seasoned simply with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Wrapping the flavorful mixture inside egg roll wrappers and frying them for about 4 to 6 minutes gave the dish a crispy exterior that made for a comforting dinner. One tip I learned is to adjust the cheese quantity because it really impacts the richness and overall balance of the filling — I found myself wishing for a bit more cheese to complement the savory steak. The creamy garlic dipping sauce was a highlight — blending mayo, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper created a smooth and tangy complement to the crispy egg rolls. This dip brought a satisfying moisture and depth that balanced the slight oiliness of the fried rolls. While the recipe was straightforward and quick, I noticed that the pre-seasoned steak I used didn’t fully match my taste expectations. For future attempts, I recommend using fresh, unseasoned steak strips to better control the flavor profile and seasoning everything yourself. Adding a bit more seasoning and perhaps experimenting with spices like smoked paprika or garlic powder could elevate the filling. Also, using an oil with a high smoke point, like peanut or vegetable oil, and frying just until golden can help reduce excess greasiness. Overall, Philly cheesesteak egg rolls are a fun twist on a classic sandwich — perfect for a casual dinner or party appetizer. If you’re like me and enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, tweaking the seasoning and cheese amounts will help you find the perfect homemade version that suits your taste buds. Don’t forget to pair with a flavorful dip like the garlic one mentioned to complete this indulgent treat! For anyone curious, searching "Philly cheesesteak egg rolls TikTok" brings up many variations with varying levels of complexity; starting simple then customizing is a great approach to master this fusion dish.
