Everything You Need To Start Digital Planning
Digital Planning has easily become one of my favorite hobbies of 2025! It’s the best way to get everything organized and in one place to absolutely be the most productive version of yourself in 2025. Here’s everything you need to start your own digital planning journey!
iPad - An iPad or tablet is the best tool to use for digital planning. It provides all the functions of a computer, but is completely portable!
iPad Accessories - While these aren’t 100% necessary, I highly suggest them as they are very helpful in my day-to-day use of my iPad. I love the Apple Smartfolio case to protect my iPad, but there are also tons of options on Amazon. I also love my Magic Keyboard, but as it’s pretty pricey I would wait on this purchase until you figure out exactly how you’re going to use your iPad.
Apple Pencil - If you want to be digital planning as if you’re writing in a paper planner, the Apple Pencil is an absolute must! I have the Pencil Pro and LOVE IT!
Apple Pencil Accessories - If you’re a beginner using the iPad and Apple Pencil, I suggest getting a paper-like screen protector as it helps when writing on the iPad screen making it feel like you’re writing on a piece of paper. If you do get a paper-like screen, I also suggest getting replacement tips for the Apple Pencil, as these screens can sometimes be gritty and wear down the original tip of the pencil. I like the thin tip ones.
Annotation Apps - You will need to download an annotation app in order to upload your digital planner and begin using it. My personal suggestion is Good Notes as it’s very user friendly and has tons of extras you can utilize to make your experience unique. Notability is also a popular one that I haven’t explored much, but it’s very similar, usage wise, to Good Notes.
Digital Planner - Etsy is the best place to find a digital planner for very inexpensive. The one I personally use is The Elegant Planner by By The Brook Designs in the Vertical Format, Sunrise Theme. I absolutely love her planner and the design, and highly suggest it if you’re just starting out digital planning. The layout is very minimal and clean, and it comes with some really great extras to take your planning to the next level!
