Best Apps for Content Creators
Being a content creator myself, it’s super important to find the best apps that can help streamline my productivity and make editing so much easier!
Canva: I love using Canva to put together the posts you see on my Lemon8, but Canva has so much more to offer for content creators. Specifically, it can help you create a deck if you’re a UGC creator, or a media kit to send to brands for potential collaborations!
instories: I’m typically a CapCut girl, don’t get me wrong, but since CapCut cannot be updated with the Tik Tok Ban I’ve been turning to instories for my video editing and LOVE IT! It’s very similar to CapCut and extremely user friendly. It also has tons of fun templates to use to spice up your content and make it more unique to you!
Planoly: Planning out content is part of the process, but can be extremely time consuming and difficult. Especially if you’re a creator posting on multiple platforms. Planoly not only gives you a calendar to see all of your upcoming posts (this is especially helpful if you work with brands and have deadlines), but it also provides you with Hashtag and caption strategy, best posting times and so much more!

Being a content creator means constantly balancing creativity with efficiency. Over time, I've refined my toolkit to include apps that not only make my life easier but also elevate the quality of my content. If you're looking to streamline your process, here are some deeper insights into how I leverage Canva, Instories, and Planoly – especially focusing on those powerful features that make a real difference. Canva: More Than Just Pretty Pictures While I love Canva for creating eye-catching posts for Lemon8, its capabilities as an AI Photo & Video Editor are truly game-changing. I've found its AI features incredibly useful, especially the video background remover, which saves me so much time when I want to isolate subjects or create professional-looking intros. Beyond simple designs, Canva's 'Magic Studio' includes tools like 'Magic Write' for brainstorming captions or even 'Magic Edit' to quickly adjust elements in a photo. For creators diving into visual branding, don't overlook its ability to create comprehensive media kits. This isn't just about making them look good; it's about showcasing your value to brands in a polished, professional format. Plus, with countless templates optimized for various platforms, from Instagram Reels to YouTube thumbnails, it ensures your content always looks its best, no matter where it's published. Instories: Your Go-To for Dynamic Video When it comes to video editing, Instories has become my reliable companion, especially with the uncertainties around other popular apps. What makes it stand out is how incredibly user-friendly it is, even for someone who might not be a seasoned editor. The app is packed with features perfect for creating engaging short-form video content, living up to its 'Reels & Story Maker' title. I particularly love its wide range of expressive text effects that add personality and dynamism to my clips. Coupled with a vast music library and trending templates, it helps me produce high-quality videos quickly, without needing to spend hours learning complex software. It truly simplifies the process of adding those professional touches that keep viewers hooked. Planoly: Master Your Social Media Strategy Planning content can feel like a full-time job, but Planoly turns it into a breeze. It’s much more than just a calendar; it's a comprehensive 'Social Media Planner' that helps you visualize your feed before it goes live. This visual planning is invaluable for maintaining a cohesive aesthetic, especially on platforms like Instagram. But the real game-changer for me lies in its strategic tools. Planoly provides insights into best posting times based on your audience's activity, which is crucial for maximizing reach. Its hashtag and caption strategy features allow me to save groups of relevant hashtags and craft compelling captions in advance, ensuring I never miss an opportunity to connect with my audience. For those juggling brand collaborations, Planoly's ability to keep track of deadlines and schedule content across multiple platforms makes managing campaigns so much smoother. It's truly a tool that helps me stay organized, strategic, and ahead of the curve. Integrating these three apps — Canva for design and AI photo/video editing, Instories for dynamic video production, and Planoly for strategic scheduling — creates a powerful, efficient workflow. Experiment with their unique features to find what works best for your content creation journey!
