I got pregnant after having my tubes tied! 🤯
Longggg post warning 😅
So 2025 reallyyyy almost took me OUT lol
So boom 6 years ago I got my tubes tied. January’25 I had a positive pregnancy test. So imagine my panic and confusion as I go to the ER bc like whaaattt?? How? Fix itttt 😩 Needless to say the nurses were just as confused and looked at me like I was crazy but I was indeed pregnant. I was discharged and told to follow up with my dr to track my hcg blood levels bc apparently the level has to reach a certain point in order to really see what’s going on via ultrasound. Crazy I kno but that’s what I did. I had an appt scheduled for a few days later but before I made it to that appointment I started bleeding HEAVILY. I’ve never seen that much blood come out of me before. I’m talking the whole toilet bowl looked like it was filled with just blood. I called the Dr and told them and they told me to come in. She did a non pelvic ultrasound and saw nothing in my uterus but “something” where my tube should be. She then sent me to the hospital to have a pelvic ultrasound where they didn’t find anything. It was essentially ruled as a miscarriage. Fast forward to September, I had yet another positive pregnancy test. I mean really WHAT ARE THE ODDS?! Why is this happening and HOW?!
So yet another ER visit where they did all the ultrasounds and tests and it was confirmed that there is very possibly an ectopic pregnancy happening. Ectopic pregnancies are/can be life threatening! I am then prepped for possible emergency surgery but after careful review of my images and labs by multiple drs, they decide giving me medicine (2 shots in the hip) to terminate the pregnancy will be the better solution bc my tube was not at risk of rupture. The shots were not pleasant but I was relieved that there was an easy solution.
Afterwards I was advised to get an IUD 🙄 like wtf no I don’t want birth control that was the whole reason for getting my tubes tied!
So here we are January 2026 and I’m scheduled to have my tubes COMPLETELY removed on the 30th. Talk about relief 😮💨
I’ll end this by saying I never thought this could happen to me. Let alone TWICE. But trust your body. I knew something wasn’t right besides just having a late period.
- if you made it this far thanks for coming to my ted talk! 😅😂❤️
