So many views and followers but no likes!

I am struggling and so confused! I have over 1000 followers and actually getting views on my posts but not getting any likes or engagement. I have tried everything that everyone has said that helps grow your account and nothing is working! I’ve tried to post often, I’ve posted at the times that they say is best for specific days. I’m literally at a loss.

... Read moreI totally understand your confusion and frustration! It's a common dilemma for content creators, especially when you're putting in so much effort. Seeing "SO MANY VIEWS AND FOLLOWERS BUT NO LIKES!" can be incredibly disheartening. You're not alone in asking, "How do I get more engagement?" I've been there too, and it really makes you question your strategy. From my own experience and what I've learned, here are a few things that might be contributing to views without engagement, and some tips I've picked up along the way that might help us both: Audience Mismatch or Passive Viewers: Sometimes, our content might be reaching a broad audience, but not necessarily the right audience who are genuinely interested enough to interact. Or, people might just be passively scrolling, consuming content without feeling compelled to like or comment. I've found that narrowing down my niche and speaking directly to a specific group has started to shift this for me. Lack of Strong Call to Action (CTA): Are you explicitly asking your viewers to do something? A simple "What are your thoughts?" or "Have you tried this? Let me know below!" can make a huge difference. Sometimes, people need a little nudge. I started adding specific questions at the end of my posts, and it’s slowly but surely increasing comments. Content Value for Engagement: While your content might be good enough to stop the scroll and get a view, is it sparking enough emotion or providing enough value to warrant a like, save, or share? Likes often come from inspiration, entertainment, or strong relatability. Saves come from utility or future reference, and shares from wanting to pass on something great. I try to think: 'Is this post worth saving for later?' for my audience. Algorithm Changes: Social media algorithms are always evolving. What worked last month might not work today. Some platforms might prioritize watch time, saves, or shares over likes. Staying updated on platform trends and experimenting with different content types (like carousels, short videos, detailed guides) can be beneficial. It's a constant learning curve! Engagement Reciprocity: Are you actively engaging with other creators in your niche? Liking, commenting meaningfully, and sharing their posts can often lead to them discovering your content and reciprocating that engagement. It’s a community, after all! I’ve noticed a positive change when I make an effort to genuinely interact with others. Post Timing and Consistency (Beyond the Basics): You mentioned trying to post often and at optimal times, which is great. But sometimes, it’s about consistent quality rather than just quantity. Maybe try focusing on creating slightly fewer, but higher-impact posts. Also, consider if your content naturally fits into the times you're posting – for example, a relaxed evening routine might do better later in the day. It's a tough spot to be in, but keep experimenting! Pay attention to which posts, even with low likes, might still get a few saves or shares – those are valuable signals. Don't give up on finding your engaged community on Lemon8!
