Oil changes
One this i honestly hate changing my oil in the heat, if it was colder I love it because I love that I can do this on my own!
Performing oil changes at home can be a rewarding experience, especially for those who appreciate hands-on vehicle maintenance. However, many find the high temperatures during summer to be a significant discomfort when working under the hood. To make the process more manageable, it’s important to schedule oil changes during the cooler parts of the day, such as early mornings or late evenings. Wearing lightweight protective gloves can help safeguard your hands from hot engine parts while maintaining comfort. Using the correct type of motor oil for your vehicle and climate is also crucial. Synthetic oils, for example, often perform better in extreme temperatures and can provide better engine protection during hot weather. Additionally, ensure your vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is slightly warm—not hot—to enable easier oil drainage. Regular oil changes are vital for maintaining engine health, improving fuel efficiency, and extending the life of your vehicle. Establishing a DIY routine not only saves money but also enhances your understanding of your car’s needs. While the heat may be challenging, embracing these precautions and tips will enable you to confidently perform oil changes year-round, turning a disliked chore into a satisfying personal achievement.
