My bottom 5 Disney movies

6. Lemonade Mouth: Yea they ate with this movie fr! The song “She’s So Gone” ?!?! You can’t tell me that’s not a banger and I wanted to try that Lemonade soo bad🤣

7. Camp Rock: I know putting Lemonade Mouth over Camp Rock is CRAZY WORK, but the only reason is because I couldn’t stand Demi Lovato💀. Other than her, this movie was good! The 2nd one storyline was lowkey a disappointment but the songs were nice.

8. Read It and Weep: I used to wish to be in this movie lol. Homegirl had a laptop that turned into a tablet that she could write/draw on like I wanted to be her so bad😭

9. Jump In: Keke Palmer and Corbin Bleu were in their bag with this one. I remember everyone would try to double dutch once this movie came out. The Hot Chili Steppers!!

10. Johnny Kapahala Back On Board: This one in my opinion is better than the first one. I just loved the set and it made me want to travel across the world to experience the weather and I wanted to learn how to skateboard

... Read moreIt's funny how some movies just stick with you, even if they aren't your absolute top favorites. We're talking about those classic Disney Channel Original Movies, or DCOMs, that defined a generation. Even my 'bottom 5' from a top 10 list hold a special place in my heart, and I bet they do for many of you too! These films, often rated TV-G, offered a perfect blend of relatable stories, catchy music, and heartwarming lessons that made them unforgettable. Take 'Lemonade Mouth' for instance. This 2011 Disney+ drama and coming-of-age film wasn't just about a band; it was about finding your voice, standing up for what you believe in, and the power of unity. The songs, especially 'She's So Gone,' are just timeless bangers that get stuck in your head in the best way possible. I vividly remember watching it and genuinely wanting to try that lemonade from the movie, thinking it held some secret power! It's a prime example of a TV-G rated movie that tackled relatable teen issues like shyness, identity, and social pressure without shying away from them. And then there's 'Camp Rock,' a 2008 coming-of-age music film that brought us the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. While some might have mixed feelings about certain character portrayals, the sheer energy and infectious music were undeniable. These Disney Original Movies, often produced during the late 2000s and early 2010s, really knew how to capture that feeling of summer, friendship, and the exhilarating journey of discovering who you are. The consistent TV-G rating meant they were always a safe bet for a family movie night, appealing to a wide audience. The beauty of the Disney Channel Original Movie catalog is its incredible variety. We got everything from singing competitions to sports dramas like 'Jump In!' (a 2007 sports/coming-of-age film that made everyone want to double dutch! Who else tried to emulate the Hot Chili Steppers in their backyard?). Then there were unique adventures like 'Johnny Kapahala Back On Board' (another 2007 sports/drama film that definitely inspired dreams of surfing and skateboarding, making you want to travel to experience those vibes!). And let's not forget the more fantastical or aspirational stories, like 'Read It and Weep' (a 2006 drama/coming-of-age film) where the protagonist had a laptop that turned into a tablet – talk about futuristic! I used to wish I had technology like that! These aren't just kid movies; they explored themes of self-discovery, teamwork, overcoming challenges, and finding where you belong in ways that resonated deeply with viewers of all ages. You didn't just watch them; you lived them. They taught us valuable life lessons, provided catchy soundtracks that still hold up, and gave us characters to root for and relate to. It's clear why these films are still searched for today. They represent a golden age of family-friendly entertainment, proving that 'original movies' don't need complex plots or mature themes to be deeply impactful. They’re a significant part of many people’s childhoods and teenage years. So, next time you're scrolling through Disney+, don't overlook these nostalgic gems, even if they didn't make someone's personal 'top' list. They might just be the perfect dose of nostalgia you need, proving that even the 'bottom 5' from a loved list can be truly fantastic. What are some of your favorite TV-G rated DCOMs that you still love to rewatch and why?
