Hello there, I’m a new mom I’m currently 2months and 1 week postpartum ❤️💙
🤕 Recovery journey: #babyboy
Becoming a new mom through a C-section recovery can truly be a unique and challenging journey. I can relate to the feeling of expecting a natural birth but having to adjust to a cesarean due to complications like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. One thing that really helped me during recovery was managing pain effectively; surprisingly, the physical pain was milder than anticipated, mostly akin to a deep bruise. However, the emotional struggle of accepting the birth experience and not feeling actual contractions was very real. Breastfeeding, in my experience, became one of the biggest hurdles. Initially, I was unsure about breastfeeding, but forming that bond with my baby motivated me to continue. However, milk supply fluctuated, especially during stressful or skipped meals. Combining breastfeeding with pumped milk helped, but I had to adapt a consistent pumping routine to improve supply. Drinking plenty of water definitely made a difference, even if oatmeals or coconut water didn't seem to help much. Hand expression and frequent pumping also became vital strategies to increase milk production. A practical pumping schedule can make managing motherhood easier, especially when balancing household responsibilities alone. My schedule includes multiple pumping sessions throughout the day to maintain supply while caring for my baby. Additionally, making sure the pump flanges fit right is crucial to avoid discomfort and improve milk extraction efficiency. For moms facing similar recovery and breastfeeding challenges, my advice is to be patient with your body and seek nutritionist guidance if needed. It's important to listen to your physical and emotional needs and reach out for support when overwhelmed. Remember, each postpartum path is personal, and sharing our stories helps us learn and grow together.
