I recently read The Universe Always Has a Plan by Matt Kahn, and honestly, it felt like one of those books that meets you exactly where you are emotionally.
From my perspective, the biggest strength of this book is how gentle and reassuring it is. It doesn’t try to “fix” you or push some aggressive self-improvement mindset. Instead, it leans into the idea that everything happening in your life even the uncomfortable or painful parts has a purpose. At first, I was a bit skeptical of that idea, but the way the author explains it made it feel less cliché and more grounding.
What really stood out to me was the focus on letting go. Not in a passive way, but in a trusting way. The “10 golden rules” are simple, but they hit deeper than expected. A few of them made me pause and reflect on situations I’ve been holding onto too tightly. It almost felt like the book was giving me permission to stop over controlling everything.
That said, I think this book works best if you’re open to spiritual or introspective thinking. If you’re looking for super practical, step-by-step strategies, it might feel a bit abstract at times. Some parts repeat similar ideas, but I didn’t mind it actually reinforced the message for me.
Overall, reading it felt calming, like a reset for my mindset. It didn’t magically solve anything in my life, but it did shift how I look at challenges and that alone made it worth it.
My personal rating: 8/10
Best for: moments when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like things aren’t going your way and you need a different perspective.
