how i saved a pigeon’s life today 🪺

definitely did not expect to save a pigeons life today, but i did. I told my boyfriend “20 bucks I can catch this pigeon” and he let me pick him up with one hand. As soon as we picked him up we saw what had happened to his fingers. They were wrapped so tight in this bundle of string and he couldn’t move them, once we got them off and let him go he hung out with us a little bit after! 🩵

other highlights of the day:

- found my favorite candy ever (i can’t get it anywhere)

- got crumbl

- went mini golfing

... Read moreSaving animals can be a surprising yet fulfilling experience. On a day that started as an ordinary outing, I found myself rescuing a pigeon whose toes were tightly bound by string, restricting his movement. After releasing him, the pigeon seemed grateful, providing a small yet significant reminder of how our actions can greatly impact the lives of others, even those we may overlook. This encounter was not just about the rescue; it also highlights the importance of being aware of our surroundings and the creatures that share our spaces. While some may view pigeons as pests, they are part of the urban ecosystem and deserve compassion. As more people become aware of animal welfare issues, small acts of kindness can lead to broader changes in attitudes towards all wildlife. While my day included saving the pigeon, it was also filled with personal highlights—tasting my favorite candy, indulging in Crumbl cookies, and having fun at mini-golf. These moments of joy remind us that life is a blend of responsibilities and delights. As a community, we should encourage more people to engage in such positive interactions with nature, cherishing both the fun of activities and the rewarding nature of helping others.
