Sometimes my bible looks like this…
Some days my Bible is filled with notes, underlines, and highlights flowing across the page. Other days, it’s just a few underlines and maybe a scribbled thought. And then there are the days where the page is almost bare — little to no notes, maybe one or two verses that stood out.
And that’s okay.
Why? Because some days Scripture speaks louder, and some days it speaks softly. Not every book or chapter sparks a note-taking fire. Some passages are meant to be absorbed quietly, without the pressure to annotate every line.
It all depends on where your heart is, what you’re walking through, and what your spirit needs in that moment.
Your bible doesn’t need to be “perfect” or “aesthetic” to be meaningful. It just needs to be YOU.

Bible journaling is a deeply personal and spiritual practice that reflects not only your understanding of Scripture but also your current emotional and spiritual state. The way your Bible looks on any given day speaks volumes about your unique walk of faith. Sometimes, you may feel inspired to scribble notes, highlight meaningful verses, and even draw art. On other days, you might simply read the passages quietly, allowing the Scripture to speak to your heart without feeling pressured to annotate or embellish. Incorporating different journaling styles acknowledges the diversity of Scripture and how God speaks to us in different ways. For instance, the OCR content reminds us of the rich, powerful stories in the Bible like the plagues in Egypt and Moses’ interactions with Pharaoh, revealing moments of profound divine intervention and human struggle. At times, these dramatic stories might encourage detailed study and note-taking. At other times, the gentle promises or reflections help us meditate quietly. Recognizing that your Bible doesn’t have to appear "perfect" or "aesthetic" to be valuable is key. Authenticity is more important than visual appeal or volume of notes. By allowing your spiritual needs to guide your journaling—whether you need deep reflection, encouragement, or simply to absorb the Word—you cultivate a meaningful relationship with Scripture. This practice supports emotional wellness and spiritual growth, respecting that faith journeys include both vibrant and quiet seasons. Bible journaling hashtags like #biblejournalwithme and #mycreativebible highlight a welcoming community that embraces all forms of Bible study, encouraging sharing and fellowship regardless of style. Whether your pages overflow with highlights and thoughts or remain almost bare, your Bible is uniquely yours—and that personal touch honors your faith journey beautifully.
