I’m officially 9 weeks post partum — for the second time. This time around, I’m choosing to take better care of myself instead of letting the depression creep back in.
Here’s what I’m doing to help me feel a little bit more like me:
♡ skincare that actually works for me (keeping it basic & affordable) since my face was covered in the WORST acne I’ve ever had after delivery
♡ moving my body with a mix of yoga + pilates
♡ staying hydrated (trying to finish my 40oz hydroflask 3x a day 💧) — this one’s hard since I’ve been surviving more on coffee than I have water lol
My current skincare lineup:
• cerave air foam cleanser
• neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer
• neutrogena spf 50 face sunscreen
• burt’s bees chapstick
Nothing fancy, just consistency — and honestly, that’s where the glow comes from. I’ve only been doing it for a week but I’ve already noticed changes — at least in my face. I probably have the clearest skin I’ve had in years.
The workouts are going to take more time to show results, but I’m trying to give myself a bit of grace in that department. While I wish I could snap back within a matter of weeks I know it’ll probably take closer to months.
Being post partum is hard, but there are things you can do to feel more like yourself. It takes time — give yourself grace. You created life, and thats a superpower.

I’ve found that adopting a straightforward skincare routine, similar to using products like Cerave Air Foam Cleanser, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer, and a gentle, high-SPF sunscreen, has helped my skin recover from postpartum acne and dryness. It’s amazing how consistency with these basic steps can clear the skin and boost self-esteem.
In addition to skincare, incorporating gentle movements such as yoga and pilates can smoothly ease your body back into physical activity. I personally find following apps like BetterMe helpful for guided workouts that respect my current energy levels. These workouts don’t rush results but focus on gradual strength and flexibility improvements, which is key since postpartum recovery is a journey, not a race.
Hydration is often overlooked amid the chaos of newborn care, yet drinking enough water supports skin health and overall well-being. Challenge yourself to finish that 40oz Hydroflask several times a day—it’s easier to stay committed when you have a favorite bottle close by.
Above all, giving yourself grace by acknowledging the incredible feat of creating life is paramount. You are not alone if you struggle with mood shifts or self-doubt. Embracing vulnerability and practicing self-compassion can empower you day-to-day. Remember, glowing up postpartum is not about perfection but about feeling your best in your unique transition.
