SEDONA ARIZONA
Hey everyone! I just had the most incredible trip to SEDONA ARIZONA, and I absolutely have to share my experience, especially if you're like me and always on the lookout for fun things to do in Flagstaff or the surrounding Northern Arizona area. While Flagstaff has its own charm, a short, scenic drive will bring you to the breathtaking red rock country of Sedona – and believe me, it's worth every minute! My absolute highlight was hiking around Bell Rock. Seriously, if you go to Sedona, this spot is a must-see! The energy there is palpable, and the views are just out of this world. I started my hike early in the morning to beat the heat and catch the sunrise painting the red rocks in incredible hues. There are several trails around Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, ranging from easy strolls to more challenging climbs, so there’s something for everyone. I opted for a moderate loop, and the feeling of being surrounded by those massive, ancient formations was truly humbling. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and wear sturdy shoes – the trails can be rocky, but the reward of those panoramic vistas is unparalleled. But Sedona isn't just about Bell Rock, though it's a fantastic starting point. This whole area is famous for its powerful vortexes, which many believe are centers of energy that are conducive to healing and meditation. Even if you're skeptical, just being in such a stunning natural setting is incredibly calming and uplifting. Beyond hiking, I loved exploring the charming Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, which feels like a little piece of old Mexico with its beautiful architecture, art galleries, and restaurants. It's perfect for an afternoon stroll and finding unique souvenirs. For those who love scenic drives, the Red Rock Scenic Byway (Highway 179) offers jaw-dropping views around every bend. You can also explore spots like Airport Mesa for incredible sunset views, or venture further to Boynton Canyon, another renowned vortex site. If you're feeling adventurous, consider a jeep tour – it’s a thrilling way to see some of the more rugged backcountry that you might not reach on foot. After a day of exploring, treating myself to a delicious meal with a view of the red rocks was the perfect end to each day. So, next time you're planning a trip to Arizona and searching for fun things to do in Flagstaff, remember that Sedona is just a stone's throw away and offers an entirely different, yet equally enchanting, experience. It’s the perfect complement to a mountain-town visit, giving you a taste of desert beauty, spiritual tranquility, and adventure all in one trip. Trust me, you won't regret adding SEDONA ARIZONA to your itinerary!
