a chicago coffee shop you can’t miss out!
Went back to one of my favorite cafes in Chicago - Swadesi Cafe is an Indian-inspired cafe in West Loop serving Indian flavors from butter chicken, samosa, rasmalai in breakfast staples like croissants, sandwiches, and toasts.
Even though I'm temped to try everything on the menu each time I go here, this time, at #atableforone , I got
• malai custard croissant w pistachio cream
• chicken tikka toastie
• banana cream latte (seasonal)

If you're like me and always on the hunt for unique coffee shop experiences in Chicago, then you absolutely have to check out Swadesi Cafe in the West Loop. It's more than just a cafe; it’s a delightful fusion of Indian flavors brought into classic cafe staples, creating something truly special that keeps me coming back. When people ask me about must-visit spots in Chicago, Swadesi Cafe is always at the top of my list because it offers such a distinct and memorable culinary journey. I’ve tried so many things on their menu, but my recent visit was a perfect example of their creativity. The malai custard croissant with pistachio cream is an absolute dream—flaky, buttery, and that subtle sweetness with a hint of pistachio is just divine. It comes beautifully presented, often on a wooden table, making it perfect for a photo op. And for something savory, the chicken tikka toastie is unbelievably flavorful and satisfying. It’s comfort food with an exciting twist that perfectly marries Indian spices with a classic cafe staple. Don't even get me started on their seasonal lattes; the banana cream latte I had was perfectly balanced, a sweet treat without being overpowering, ideal for sipping while you enjoy the ambiance. Beyond the incredible food and drinks, the cafe itself is such a charming spot. From the moment you see the distinctive blue sign with the cafe's name and the large glass windows along the city street, you know you're in for a treat. Inside, it’s thoughtfully designed with a cozy yet modern vibe. I love the clean look of the white tiled wall behind the counter, where you can see the display case with pastries calling your name. There are clear menu boards that are easy to browse, showcasing all their delicious offerings. The interior seating area is really inviting, with comfortable light blue booth seating and small white tables perfect for solo visits or catching up with friends. The elegant decorative wallpaper adds a touch of sophistication, and the warm glow from the pendant lights creates a truly cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal place to relax, get some work done, or simply enjoy a delicious meal. It's a fantastic escape from the hustle and bustle outside. Whether you're craving a unique breakfast, a flavorful lunch, or just a cozy spot for an afternoon coffee, Swadesi Cafe delivers every time. It’s a place where traditional Indian tastes meet modern cafe culture beautifully. If you’re in Chicago and searching for a cafe that offers more than just your usual fare, Swadesi Cafe is a definite must-visit. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

The malai custard croissant with pistachio cream sounds divine! Is the croissant itself as flaky as it looks?
