Our newborn will spend her first year in our master bedroom until she is old enough to share a room with her big sister! This is what we came up with as storage!

Since newborns go through numerous outfit changes, having everything well-organized minimizes the stress of searching for items in the middle of the night. Additionally, integrating some open shelving allowed for quick access to frequently used items such as blankets and burp cloths. I also recommend creating a dedicated corner or nook for baby essentials, so everything stays contained and doesn’t clutter the bedroom space. This can be enhanced by using soft baskets or fabric bins that blend with the room décor while being child-safe. Lighting is another important factor—soft nightlights can illuminate storage areas without disturbing the baby’s sleep. Finally, involving older siblings in organizing and accessing shared spaces can foster a cooperative environment and make the transition to a shared room easier. Overall, thoughtful newborn storage solutions not only support daily caregiving but also create a cozy nesting room atmosphere for baby and family alike.
