What Curriculum Are We Using This Year?
As we get closer to starting the next school year, I have started to pull resources together for this years curriculum.
I'm still working out some subjects but we have a good layout going. So far I have decided on:
3 YEARS
Preschool Math at Home by Kate Snow
Gentle & Classical Preschool
ABC Letter Sounds Book & Preschool Literacy by JDA Learning
7 YEARS
Memoria Press 2nd Grade
Saxon Math 2
Rod & Staff Nature Patterns
***Still making choices on enrichment in art, science, history/geography
9 YEARS (with some special needs)
Math With Confidence 3
Zaner Bloser Handwriting 2M
Elemental Science (still deciding which one)
Abeka Handbook for reading
***still deciding which literature/grammar/writing/spelling programs I want to use
11 YEARS
Memoria Press
Saxon Math 6/5
Rod & Staff Grammar 6
Spelling Workout (most likely level F)
I still have a lot to work out and some of this might change in the coming weeks. Once I know for sure I will post our final choices for everyone to see.

As the new school year approaches, choosing the right curriculum can feel overwhelming. Here’s what to consider: Start by assessing your child’s learning style and needs to select suitable materials. For preschoolers, programs like Gentle & Classical Preschool and the ABC Letter Sounds Book are popular because they incorporate play-based learning. For children in the primary years, curriculum options such as Memoria Press and Saxon Math provide structured learning pathways tailored for various ages. If your child has special needs, consider natural learning methods that promote engagement, such as Elemental Science and Math With Confidence, which adapt to individual learning paces. As you refine your curriculum, think about incorporating enrichment activities in art, history, and science, which can make learning more holistic and enjoyable. Discussing your selections with other homeschooling parents can yield fresh ideas and insights. Join online forums or local support groups and don’t hesitate to share your curriculum picks. Collaboration leads to enhanced learning experiences and new resources that benefit both you and your child, making the homeschool journey even more rewarding.

Is it better to combine different curriculums? I’m new to this I just pulled my 2nd grader and 6th grader out of school and we’re starting our first year and I’m stressing 🤦🏻♀️ I want to make sure I get them everything they need I was looking into MiaAcademy but I’m not sure now
