My Mixels OC Nixelette

Creating your own Mixels OC (Original Character) is such a fun and rewarding process, especially when you're a big fan of the series! I recently poured my creativity into designing Nixelette, a female Mixels OC who I envisioned as King Nixel's Queen. It all started with some sketches I made at school, just letting my imagination run wild. For Nixelette, my main goal was to create a character that would complement King Nixel while still standing out with her own unique charm. I pictured her as a strong, elegant, and slightly mischievous queen. This led me to give her distinctive features like her beautiful long dark hair and a prominent crown, symbolizing her royal status. Her long dark dress was also a deliberate choice to convey her regal presence and make her appear as a formidable counterpart to King Nixel. It’s amazing how a simple hand-drawn idea can evolve into a full-fledged character! One of the most enjoyable aspects of creating an OC for me is imagining their voice and personality. For Nixelette, I immediately thought of Anna Kendrick, who voices Poppy in Trolls. Her voice has that perfect blend of sweetness and strength, which I felt would bring Nixelette to life in a really captivating way. It adds another layer of depth to the character, even if it's just in my head! What gaps can you fill? For Nixelette, my inspiration was clearly King Nixel and the idea of expanding the Nixel hierarchy with a powerful female character. Sketch It Out: Don't be afraid to start with rough hand-drawn ideas. These initial sketches are where your character's design truly begins to form. Think about colors, shapes, and what makes them unique. Develop a Backstory & Personality: Even a simple background can make your OC more engaging. Is your character brave, shy, mischievous, or super-friendly? What's their connection to the Mixels world? For Nixelette, her role as King Nixel's Queen immediately gives her a strong position and narrative potential. Consider Their Tribe/Faction: Does your OC belong to an existing tribe, or are they part of a new one? How do they interact with other Mixels? This helps integrate them into the universe. Have Fun with Details: Assigning a voice actor, giving them a unique catchphrase, or even thinking about their favorite activity can make your OC feel more real and distinct.
