... Read moreWhen I first got my Nespresso VertuoPlus, I was excited but also a bit skeptical about whether it would truly become a daily staple. Two years in, and it absolutely has! It’s more than just a coffee maker; it’s part of my morning ritual, especially those slow weekend mornings when the aroma fills my apartment. It genuinely makes me feel like a seasoned barista without any of the fuss!
One of the biggest wins for me is how incredibly user-friendly it is. Seriously, you just pop in a pod, press a single button, and magic happens. I remember being intimidated by fancy coffee machines, but this one took away all that stress. The fact that it heats up in just about 15 seconds means I'm never waiting long for my caffeine fix, even on the busiest weekdays. And the movable drip catcher? Genius! It adjusts so easily, whether I'm using a small espresso cup or my favorite oversized travel mug. No more splashes or messy counters, which is a huge plus in my book.
Let's talk about the practicalities. The adjustable water reservoir is a game-changer. Mine holds a generous 40oz, meaning I'm not constantly refilling it, which is perfect for my multi-cup-a-day habit. And the rotatable design? It really helps if you have limited counter space, allowing you to tuck it into a corner or against a wall. Another feature I've come to appreciate is the internal storage for used pods. It holds about 17-20 used coffee pods before needing to be emptied. What surprised me is that they truly don't smell, even after a few days! This makes recycling the aluminum pods super convenient.
While it's true there aren't many customizable features like a traditional espresso machine, the VertuoPlus consistently delivers a great cup. It brews everything from a 5oz or 8oz coffee to single or double espresso shots. I mainly stick to the coffee pods, but it's nice to have the option for a quick espresso shot when I'm feeling fancy. For someone who just wants a consistently good, fuss-free coffee, this machine really shines.
Now, about those pods being 'pricier.' Yes, they are. But for me, the convenience and quality outweigh the cost, especially compared to daily coffee shop runs. I've found that buying them in bulk directly from Nespresso or keeping an eye out for sales, sometimes even at Target (since mine is the Hearth & Hand edition, a Target exclusive!), helps manage the expense. There's also a decent variety of flavors and intensities, so I rarely get bored.
Overall, my Nespresso VertuoPlus has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. It delivers convenience, speed, and consistently good coffee. While it might not be for the hardcore barista who wants to fine-tune every variable, for anyone who loves a quick, delicious cup without fuss, it's a solid investment. It truly transforms my mornings, making me feel like I have my own little coffee shop right at home. If you're on the fence, especially if you're a beginner to home brewing, I'd say give it a shot!
I love it but I agree with all your cons. The reusable pods are trash so far 😭
